Small cream head over foxy red-amber beer, quasi still. Sweet spices and sour wood. Delicious balance, very vinous & fruity nose. Mildly wry, wood. Finish with lactic acid, but the general impression is again one of (red)fruit (on wood). Lipsmacking sourishness, over vinous (but complex and refined) sweetishness, yet dry as a whole. Hints at chocolate. Light to medium bodied, nearly absent carbonation, acidburn, slight slickness. One of Jerômes’ best. Unbelievable that such a good Flemish Oud Bruin hails from the Jura...

Draft at ChurchKey poured into a tasting snifter. Pours an dark amber/brown color with little off-white head. Aromas of vinegar, tart fruit, red wine, subtle whiskey. Tasting notes of vinegar, tart fruit, oak, dark fruit, grapes, red wine, light funk, light whiskey. Medium body with a dry finish. Low carbonation. Really nice tart brew from BFM.

Tap at Moeder Fontainas. Amber brown colour, thick white head. Huge huge sour aroma, rarely happens that towards the end of a tasting you can smell a beer almost before it gets to the table! Sulphur, sour, nappies, sewage, fruity, and yet somehow appealing. Actually didn’t taste quite up to the smells, a little boozy maybe, heavy malt and funky sour, not quite the lengthy finish of say a Cantillon lambic. One of those beers which are an experience to even try.

Cloudy brown color. Extremely tart red grape smell. Tart bite blends sour cherry earthy oak. AMAZING.

This is a great sour. Vinous aroma and oaky woody and dark fruit aromas with some wine barrel in there as well. Maybe 6 of 10 vinous. Really like a consecration flavor with a bit more cherry flavor to it. A great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3/1/2014. On tap at The Birch. Red-brown color with a thin tan head. Fruity and yeasty aromas with oak, caramel. Tart and sour flavors. Excellent.

On draft at Churchkey DC during Sour Session number 9. Pours a clear brownish amber with a feint off white head. Caramel nose. Flavors of funky cheese, caramel and tart green apples. Smooth tart finish.

Syrlig fruktaroma. Smaken er bringebær & kirsebær. Tørr syrlig ettersmak. Av mine bedre sure.

Capped 750 shared by Marcus. Pours rather ruddy orange brown with no head. Aroma is sour and woody. And fruit. Med body. Flavor is tart, fruity, woody, tending towards sour. Seems to develop cherry notes. Exquisite.

marcus (10142) - Sacramento, California, USA - FEB 17, 2014
Bottle from Healthy Spirits. Pours orange copper with a transient beige head and a sour fruit and oak aroma. There is a delicious very sour fruit flavor with a hint of cherry and lots of oak.
