Pours a cloudy, rusty orange with a 2 finger thick beige head along with nice carbonation and lacing. Lots of funk on the nose along with some tart black cherries. Flavor starts with tart cherries, cran, and some underlying funk. Finishing strong with great carbonation and excellent mouth feel. This is the only SBC I’ve tried with this carbonation.....amazing. courtesy of Jérôme Rebetez; Solothurner Biertage 2009 - pours a hazy bright bordeaux colour with absolutely no foam; aroma of cherry and vinegar; some subtle woody and apple notes too; surprisingly moderate malt body for its alcohol content; moderate carbonation, oily and quite sticky; solid sourness which lasts long in a very fruity finish (cherry, apple) - the Vin jaune barrel adds to its drinkability; beautiful fiulijn (20514) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 28, 2010

Explosive bottle quite gushing; cloudy amber color; nice creamy head. There is the classic BFM sour aroma, but more delicate than usual, with wood, lightly vinous, very elegant. The body strength is medium, also because of the high carbonation; malt flavor, with mild sourness and wine character, very well balanced, with also a light residual sweetness. The final is woody. This version is sublime, elegant, very well balanced.
Dasilky1 tasting. Dec 13th 2009. 375mL bottle opened by WeeHeavySD. Thanks Jon! Huge gusher. A little bit of sweetness. Smells great. Nice Bretty sour aroma. When the glass was empty it has a lingering malty oaky aroma. Very easy to drink. Excellent! Cheers to Jon’s 3000th rating as well. Travlr (24784) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - SEP 6, 2010
Bottle marked VJ1 bottle April 2009, shared with steptin at Max’s. Amber color, small off white head. Aroma of port wine, Christmas spice, in a combination that works nicely. Taste has slightly sour peach, white wine, earth. Interesting stuff, definitely worth seeking out.

Big thanks to bu11zeye for this little feller. Orangish brown hazy pour. Aroma is very oaky, with some sourness and white wine. Flavor is sour, oak, lots of white wine, almost overwhelmingly so. Little bit hot on the alcohol, could use some time. Great carbonation and mouthfeel. WeeHeavySD (3387) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 13, 2009
Rating 3K, thats 3000, 3 thousand, yup, lots and lots of beers I’ve had. So I really originally wanted to drink Gargamel for 3k, but that wasn’t meant to be, so it’ll have to be another milestone. This beer was extremely highly antcipated by me because its the final version of the grand cru that I needed to get, and it took me a while to get it but I finally did from Gabe. GMCC2181. I’m glad I got to finally try it but its underwhelming, and it was a gusher gusher gusher, wow. Pours orange with a tan head. Nose is big and tart and portends a more tart taste than the taste ends up being. Taste is sweet and light and a lil tart. There is almost an apple juice quality of the taste and the appearance too, but this isn’t applejuice. Its not sour perfection, but its pretty good and good enough to mark a milestone with. fonefan (49343) - VestJylland, DENMARK - JAN 28, 2010

Light unclear medium orange color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, sour berry, grape, wine, wood - oak. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate acidic with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Hazy dark amber pour. a Gusher that spilled a bit but I managed to save all but the first couple drops. Aroma is tart nectar fruit, peach and pear and a lot of apricot. Some sweet malt character is present as well, adding to the complexity. Flavor is at first a shock of tart, followed by some sweet vinous barrel notes and fruitiness. Very complex, the barrel really imparts some vanilla, sweet boozey notes to the beer. This ballances out the extreme tartness and works well with the apricot fruit. Bottle shared by Marcus. Purs hazy copper with a few bubbles. Mildly sour aroma. Medium body with little carbonation. A fruity/citric sour taste followed by a slight burst of sweet extra ripe fruites. Finishes smooth, mildly sour and now oaky wood is strong.
