Expensive! 375 ML bottle. Pours a hazy deep copper with a tiny head and very light carbonation. Nose of semi tart cherries and dry oak. Not very tart in the finish, slightly sweet.

Bottle shared by Tmoney99 I believe from notes. Pours a hazy amber brown color with a thin off white film. The aroma and flavor have tart fruity notes with some acidity, caramel, rum barrel, vinous notes, tannins, alcohol, oak, and raisins all with a dry finish. Full body, vinous sour, medium warmth, very soft carbonation.

Bottle shared at Slutfest Six, 8/6/16. Clear copper, thin fizzy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of rum, oak, cherries, funk. The taste is oak, caramel, lemon, cherry, funk. Medium bodied, mild booze, lingering tartness.

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2016 375ml bottle poured in a Hoegaarden Tumbler. A: Pours a cloudy brown color with practically no head and no lacings left S: Acid and strong ABV. Woody. Quite fruity, lots of grapes and plums in the nose T: Taste is a bless, really. Tart and fruity with a malty backbone. Very woody too. Metallic notes. You can actually feel the rhum. Fantastic M: Heavy creamy body. Very low carbonation. Tart aftertaste O: Good drinkability. Quite tart but delicious. Another BFM masterpiece [ BA Review @ 3/11/2012 ]

Bottle: The aroma consists of sour citrus, lemon, light rum, vanilla, oak, and alcohol. It pours hazy orangish-brown with a minimal off-white stray bubbles that quickly fade to nothing. The flavor starts with sour citrus and lemon. The finish has light vinegar, alcohol, and oak. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation and a slightly oily mouthfeel.

UPDATED: SEP 29, 2014 Bottle: Thanks, Kevin. Murky, muddy copper body with just a couple bubbles rising to the top, not much life to it. Aroma of tart lemon, mild vinous booziness, cherry skin, acetic acid, some perfume, a touch of toasted malt, & a touch of wood. Flavor is a little thinner than expected, given the heft of the aroma. Picks up a little with each successive sip. Tart lemon flesh, cherry, red wine, light booze, drying oak, a touch of floral spice, & very light must. Lots of vinegar towards the finish, the booze gets a bit more prominent, too. Decent, but not great.

Opened with no carbonation ... Almost clear orange red pour with slight bubbles .... aroma is sour and acidic, with a tart cherry, light vinegar/red wine and definitely wood with light berries and rum .... taste is tart and smooth def had a little booze to the aroma and taste at first, but it mellowed out .... light rum and woody with a slight sugar to it, has red wine notes and some caramel malt as it warms it has a nice bitter bite .... finish is very dry and woody with a lingering tartness and bitterness .... this is a really good sour that aged well in 3-4 years since it was brewed/bottled

Acquired at Winooski Beverage Warehouse in mid-2013. Enjoyed a full pour at cellar temp (50F)

A - Very little carbonation poured, almost flat honestly in mouthfeel as well. It’s a burnt ruby red with a lot of black floaties even on a delicate pour.

S - Nose has a lot of lactic acid, that rodenbach cherry pie and oak aroma and quite a bit of sweetness.

T - It’s a very nice beer. The sour is not overwhelming at all, very light in fact and doesn’t really stick around. you can a woody note mid way through with caramel and prune juice the finish is rum booziness and more sweetness.

M - Hard to get any carbonation from this at all...it’s pretty much a flat beer but oddly that doesn’t detract at all from how nice it is...would have been better with carbonation though.

O - By the nose, I thought this was going to be a sour bomb. It’s not and I enjoyed sipping it on a cold evening up here in the woods.
