finol (3389) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 22, 2009
750ml Bottle. Pours deep mahogny, lots of yeast and a off white head. Sour aroma. Tastes sour with a rosted finish that recebles a porter but for the rest i doubt that it is one...

Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - JUL 20, 2009
Pours a muddy, milk like dark brown with a thin white head and lots of protein globules floating around. Smells of sweet malt, lactic, some roasty hints. Tastes lactic and sweet with a full bodied mouthfeel.

The bottle looks good, but a bit complex. The beer in the glass dirty-brown, small head. Starts fruity with a slight sourishness. Finish becomes more and more dry, a bit mushy-moldy. Not my favouite. Thanks to Allen for the bottle!

pilsnerrogge (2948) - Finspång, SWEDEN - JUL 17, 2009
Bottled Pours dark brown -almost black- with a big, airy head. Aroma is extremly sour; pure acid. Very thin mouth feel and vey sour flavour. Undrinkable; down the drain it went.
This one was most likely infected and unfortenately I don’t have another one to rate.

75cl bottle. This is one interesting approach to a porter. pours brown, thick beige head. aroma was bitter, floral hops with a tobacco leaf nose, yeasty, some fruits and a medicinal herbal scent followed by some light roastiness. taste, had light notes of green tea leaves followed by some bitterness floral. Remains crisp, hops adding some citrus elements, but then also some tart berry touch, some roasted malts also noted. Strange that the bottle indicates the beer to be a Bière de Garde. I really could not connect with this medicinal/herbal side.

Bottle. Brown colour with a beige head. Aroma: Lactic acidity, basement, earth, wood, green apples, berries. Flavor: Lactic, acidic, lightly roasted, a bit fruity, woody pineapple, wet basement, not very sweet at all. Dry finish. A very different kind of porter.

Woody looking brown with a small lively off-white head. Aroma is... Very interesting allot of wet basement flavours coming through a light acidic berry layer. Flavours is just as weird, candy like with notes of various berries, light light roast, wet basemen funk and a slightly metallic finish with very low bitterness. Mouthfeel is smooth yet lively and rather light, almost too light.

ekstedt (6782) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUN 23, 2009
Bottle (75 cl), thanks deft. Cloudy brown with large fluffy head. Fruity aroma with red berries, wood, and some faint roasted notes. Light to medium bodied, moussy mothfeel. Soft acidity, some roasted bitterness. I really don’t know if I like it or not. The first sips are very interesting, but after a while I get bored.

(Bottle) Pours dark brown with a pale nougat coloured head. The aroma holds notes of lactic acid, light funk and dark cherries. Undertones of spicy and citric hops, sweet liquorice, black currant candy, pears, dry chocolaty malt, crackers, dried herbs, lemon, lime, damp basement, wet earth and elegant wood hints. Maybe a touch of strawberries and pineapples. The flavour is light sweet and light bitter with notes of tart cherries, tart currant, unripe green apples, lactic acid, lemon, lime, mould, basement, light spices/dried herbs and light funk. The malt is dry and cracker-like with a mild note of roast lurking in the background. The mouthfeel have a nice wood dry and lemon citric Orval-ish sting. Lively carbonation. Bit watery. Light sourish, chocolaty, spicy and basement-like finish. Light to medium bodied. I like, this is my kind of thing.
