(bottle) clear amber-brown colour with a frothy beige head. aroma of roasted malts, treebark and bretty funk, with some subtle notes of cinnamon, clove and milk chocolate. flavour is mostly sugar icing, clove and lemon peel, with quite a bit of alcohol, some more treebark and a semi-dry finish. medium- to heavy-bodied with lively carbonation.

Bottle 33cl. Small white head leaving. Dark brown color. Aroma is raisins, amarone, grapes, blackcurrant, leather and smoked ham. Taste is sweet and faded out og the same. Leather, berries, ham. Complex, interesting, quite challenging.

La Citadelle, Geneva bottle (8 francs): Pours dark brown with a white head. Aroma is dark fruit and much of it. Taste is fruity, sweet, and yeasty. Pretty nice with a pleasant aftertaste.

Butelka 0.33L.
Wygląd: Klarowne z iskrą, miedziane. Obfita kremowo-żółta piana, średnio i drobnopęcherzykowa, średniotrwała.
Aromat: Ciemne pieczywo, goździk, guma balonowa, śliwka, lekko dziwie, stajenne nuty, lekko fenolowe, suszone owoce i nuta sherry. Pachnie jak dubel.
Odczucie: Wysycenie średnie, ciało średnie-, puszysto-kremowa faktura
Smak: Kwas chlebowy, ciemne pieczywo, suszone owoce, słodki początek z lekko kwaskowym, śliwkowym rozwinięciem, na finiszu półwytrawne z lekką do średniej intensywną goryczką ziemistą, przyprawową, wzmocnioną ułożonym alkoholem.
Całość: Bardzo fajny belgian strong ale. Złożony, przyjemnie skomponowany z ułożonym alkoholem, przyprawami i owocami suszonymi.

On tap @ Le Saint-Bock.

Appearance: Slightly hazy bright dark amber/golden-ish with a medium fully lasting tan head and good lacing.

Aroma: Christmas spices, caramel, alcohol and red fruits.

Taste: Moderate to medium sweetness. Christmas spices are dominants along with a strong caramel/malt presence, toasted notes, red fruits and very mild acidity.

Palate: Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Mouthfeel is a bit syrupy. Moderate spicy finish with a bit of alcohol warmth.

Overall: A bit unbalanced and too spicy for my liking, but it’s an interesting spiced Belgian Ale. Tasty.

Bue en fût au Saint-Bock. Une bière brune avec des notes de chocolat et d’épice. Il y a aussi du café. La bouche est mince, piquante avec des notes épicées à la manière d’une dubbe. Correct 6+

Aromas of nuts raisins and alcohol some malt. Pours a deep opaque brown with a thin off-white head. Fizzy palate with a lingering tart finish. Really well-made with balance and not a ton of alcohol flavors but still real heft.

Brown color, small white head. Bready, malty, spicy yeasts, tart. Very typical BFM I?d say. Birnbrot, yes. Malty, spicy taste, mild bitterness, the tartness is always present, but not overpowering. Lots of bready malts, nice fruity tartness. Nice carbonation, refreshing for its darkness. Good, I like it!
