Clear dark brown colour with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, prune, plum, raisin, soy sauce, caramel, light chocolate. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, soy sauce, tart, berry sharp, dried dark fruits. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.

A: Pours a very dark brown almost black color forming no head. I’ve tried to put it let say, aggressively and then it formed some big bubbled brown head. Low retention and no lacings. BFM strong beers style
S: Sour and vinegar, slight sweet and very malty in the nose. Strong notes of caramel and roasted malts. A bit too fruity to the style. Light notes of alcohol
T: Slightly sweet and roasted malts upfront. Overall sour taste with a mild bitter hoppy end
M: Heavy and molasses body. Very low carbonation. Sour to bitter aftertaste
O: Good drinkability but, a difficult beer. Not a Bock beer for sure, not a Eisbock either. It’s far too sour and too bitter to the style. However, I would recommend it to sour and aggressive beer lovers. From my favorite Swiss brewery!

Bottle from Star Grocery, Berkeley. Pours near black with no head and a slightly sour malt aroma. There is a winey dark malt flavor with lots of oak and berry. Pours unclear dark amber brown with no head. The aroma brings some malty bready, yeast notes. The flavor brings the nail polish sour notes on a thicker, but not too thick, body and no booze flavor at all for the high ABV. rand (1920) - SWITZERLAND - FEB 14, 2014
Bouteille 33 cl de erzbierschof.ch. Aspect et couleur d’huile de vidange, mousse absente. Nez fruité avec de l’aigreur et du boisé, pruneau sec, vinaigre balsamique, sauce soja. La bouche est aigre-douce, avec une acidité vineuse, du fruité de cerise et pomme aigre, du réglisse, des notes balsamiques et vinaigrées. Une bière aigre à l’ancienne qui aurait sa place à Oudenaarde. Intéressante et je boirai la 2ème bouteille sans trop de procrastination.
