Draft to taster. This batch is listed as 5.9 abv and 24.3 IBUs. Looks good for the style; a dark cola with foamy beige head that slowly dissipates into lacing. Smells of dark malt, intense mint, and dark chocolate. Tastes like it smells with a below average mouthfeel that seems a bit metallic. Some strange black licorice too. Not my thing. queenholly (3623) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - JAN 1, 2014
Draft @ brewery. Black with a medium tan head. Fresh sweet spearmint and chocolate malt aroma. Sweet chocolate malt, fresh cooling spearmint, light acidity, and slightly green flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation. As a folk herbalist, I was rather impressed with the freshness of the mint flavor. JoePeesie (924) - Long Lake, Illinois, USA - DEC 24, 2013
Growler brought in town for my by the SIL, shes a keeper. At first pour, fresh out of the fridge, this beer was pretty bland flavored, as it warmed to room temp the chocolate started to come to the fore ground, the mint kicked in on the finish. This beer delivers more on the mint and chocolate, than the stout, but there is enough of it there. The mint does taste like extract if I honest, but its not so over barring that its a turn off. All around, it was a welcomed addition to an otherwise sober Christmas Eve. Not a beer I kill myself to get, but one that was above average, and that I was happy I go to try. thedm (6320) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - JUN 11, 2012
This draft brew from a beer festival poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized dark brown colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque black colored body. The mild aroma was dark malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of roasted malt and dark malt. An OK brew just nothing special.
