An annoying case. This beer is clearly not awful, it’s drinkable, but it lacks a lot of style overall. Close to no palate, horrible plastic bottle; no head... There’s not much to say about it. It tastes like regular Belgian Ale, but it doesn’t try much more, clearly forgettable but not a bad experience. PARTIALLY APPROVED BY TAVERNY’S BLACK METAL CREW ! 23rd March 2016: 66cl plastic bottle into a ’Chimay’ badged chalice (twice) at home with some rustic bread and pastrami for lunch. Clear and clean amber body, thin beige top which soon turned into a wisp and collar. Sugary sweet from start to finish, light malts and some mild fruitiness but just a vehicle to transport sugar into a beer container. Oh dear, this is not good at all: should have shared it with someone, a lesser man would have drain poured most of it, let alone refilled his chalice as I did. Brown body, grey ugly head, bad looks. Very sweet, simplistic, very little malts. Brown sugar taste, watery, not fermented at all it almost seems. Very, very poor quality product. Alcohol in the end. Ugh, Bleh. (50cl plastic bottle from Auchan Tours) worldbeertaste (1804) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - JAN 7, 2014
Amber with a thin, white disappearing head. Smells of caramel, malt extract, sugar and a bit of banana skin. Medium oily body. Tastes of syrup malt with a soft roast sweet finish. Processed nonsense but drinkableish KnutAlbert (6753) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 20, 2013
Plastic bottle from a French Carrefour. Brass color. Fruity, true to type bitterness. Nothing wrong with this. ralphdot (1094) - Billingham, Durham, ENGLAND - MAY 31, 2013
6.2% deep gold with a thin head, not much aroma, bitter slightly day sweet taste. Swaroga (2223) - Warszawa, POLAND - FEB 2, 2013
66cl plastic bottle. Clear wood brown color with almost no head. Nose : bread, apricot and banana. Ginger tart. Sip : oily texture with small carbonation. Sweet bread and ginger, fruity esters. Drinkable and quite recognisable Belgian taste although a poor overall flavour. Shame it's bottled in plastic which is something you'll not find in Belgium.
