The sister of Bièropholie IPA. The Bièropholie IPA, Golding and Cascade are the same beer. Only the hops are changed.

The first batch was made in March 2004 at Express-Broue.

The second batch was made in April 2005 at the brewery Le Chaudron.

The third batch (V.3) was made in mid-December 2005 and bottled end of February... Because of a very bad producing procedure, It was not autorised for sale by Bièropholie but was sold anyway by the contract brewery.

Appearance: Pours a dark reddish body, a little bit clear with a thick 2-3 finger head. Smell: Herbal, tea-like aroma with a bit of bitter citrus & hops. Taste: Strong point of the beer. A certain earth, grain-like aspect with a moderate hops flavor. Some citrus in there also. Subdued but flavorful. Mouthfeel: Smooth, creamy malt with medium carbonation. Finishes with a dry, tea-like aftertaste that at first was nice but after a while, i was kind of put-off by the finish. Mouthfeel not the best IMHO. Reviewed on: 05-10-2008

Bouteille 341ml.

Promising hoppy aroma, reminiscent of good american IPA:s, despite the british choice of hop. Taste lives up and has also a hint of vanilla in the after taste, maybe a result of the bottle being of age

Originally rated July 2006. Bought at La Trappe À Fromage in Gatineau, Quebec. It pours a slightly hazy amber-orange-red colour with a big creamy tanned head. Retention is real good, carbonation is average and lace is chunky. The nose is full of caramel malt, molasse, nuts and golding hop. Creamy and mild tart mouthfeel. Good clean bitterness in the beginning, but then calms down quite a bit in the finish. Not much lingers. Pretty decent, but I still prefer their Cascade version (which is the same beer, but with cascade hop instead of golding).

Pours a dark hazy amber, not a lot of light getting through. Smells like candy or maybe cookies, caramel, cereal, something strange and not beerish. In any case, the flavour is also a little cookie-ish with a decent ending and good mouthfeel for what is a beer with little carbonation. Would only buy it again if there was no other IPA around and I was in the mood.

Thanks to cfrancis for this one. Bottle. Pours a dark amber color. Little to no head. Aromas of dark fruits and hops, sticky sweet caramel, some alcohol. This does not smell like a regular IPA. Taste is sweet and thin. Little bit of bitterness on the back of the tongue. Tastes somewhat musty. Seems more like a weak barley wine to me. This is one interesting beer.

Aroma is somewhat sweet/caramel with a definite bite from the British hops. Appearance is dark for an IPA, with a small white head. The taste is pretty much the same as the aroma. The palate is superb, super smooth with some carbonation. Overall great, I wish I could find the other IPA to try as well.

( 12oz bottle thanks to bu11zeye) Pours clear amber with no head. Nose of biscuit, yeast. Taste is light citrus hops, a bitter linger and no real carbonation on this one.
