COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Five different dark grains, molasses and freshly roasted African coffee beans went into this rich and decadent sweet-stout. This beer is unfiltered and matured in the bottle and will continue to improve for the next 2-3 years. After fermentation a portion of the beer was matured on medium-toast french oak providing subtle hints of vanilla and coconut.
Pour carefully to avoid disturbing the sediment.

(Bottle) Pours near black with brown head. The aroma is a bit sharp with roast and alcohol up front. Undertones of earth, vanilla, coffee, brown sugar, raisins, sweet liquorice and some hops. Too much alcohol on the nose. The flavour is medium sweet, light to medium bitter and light acidic. Tones of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, light dark fruit, a touch of asphalt and light hoppy. The mouthfeel is soft and light sticky with a strange, light sharp finish. Light to medium carbonation. Milky, chocolaty, light hoppy finish with a touch of compost. Medium bodied. One of my favorite brewmasters, not one of my favorite beers.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a brown head. Decent lacing. Aroma is sweetis hand roasted with notes of smoked malt. Flavour is tart and roasted with slight (liquorice) bitterness and faint notes of coffee. Bitter liquorice finish. Pretty good. 31.03.11.

2012: 3.5 cm sediment in this 33 oz bottle unacceptable. Otherwise, a delicious well roasted coffee stout (could use more coffee flavor) wonderfully delicious creamy oily mouthfeel. A lot of residual sweetness and light mocha palate.

Tämä lienee ensimmäinen koskaan juomani olut Afrikan mantereelta. Väriltään olut on pikimustaa ja muodostaa mukavan, vaalean ruskean vaahdon. Tuoksussa on kahvia, vaniljaa, melassia ja paahtunutta mallasta. Maultaan olut on hieman makea, nautinnollisen kahvinen, vaniljainen ja hieman paahtunut. Paksu ja öljyinen suutuntuma. Melko herkullinen olut, vaikke ihan tyylilajin kärkikastiin kuulukaan,

Bottle 340 ml from erzbierschof.ch. Black beer with tenacious beige foam, lacing the glass. Scents of chocolate, roasted of coffee incredible, cappuccino, dry fruits, molasses and vanilla, hop and hint of wood. Stay supple, unctuous, rich with culinary possibilities.
