Red-amber color, with creamy head. Some caramel aroma, with light fruit touch; more pronounced caramel flavor; the aroma is a bit sweaty, and the bitterness is correct, although the announced "big hop" is MIA; there is some residual sweetness. Lack of fresh and aromatic components.
On tap at Big Al, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is quite fruity, with tropical fruits, bready malts and piney hops. Flavour is similar, with piney hops and tropical fruits. Fairly bitter but not harsh. Much better than the average ratings suggest. Fruity and balanced. Very good. bhensonb (15600) - Woodland, California, USA - MAR 14, 2013
Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours translucent copper with a slight creamy beige head. Aroma is mostly roastly caramel. Like barleywine. Full bodied. Flavor is hop burning citrus but there’s still that barleywine malt aspect. If I didn’t know, I’d put the ABV around 9%. Not cause of heat, cause of the barleywineness of this beer. It’s bitter and malty. Great combo. I’m thinking this is seriously underrated. Dogbrick (13518) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - SEP 21, 2012
Sample at the brewpub. This brew is a dark orange color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, pine and sweet malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter resiny hops character with malt and fruit in the background. The finish is somewhat bitter with a piney hops aftertaste. Decent overall. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - AUG 5, 2012
22. Pours a clear very dark brown with a thin loose tan head and light drippy lace. Big pine and iced tea nose. Creamy medium body with moderate carb. Toasty mid palate with caramel presence, lots of pine and iced tea. Big and very acetic iced tea and pine finish. A little on the dry side near the end.

Appearance: Pours clear amber with a medium sized off-white head and good lacing
Aroma: Dusty caramel, sweet malts
Taste: Caramel, dusty and some mild pine resin
Decent, but with a name like "Big Hoppa", I expected it to be a big hop bomb!
Bottle:   Reddish amber, fiery, sediment floats about, moderate frothy off-white head, fairly nice lacing.   Soft pithy and citrus peel nose.   Same on the tongue, a bit brighter, citrus peel and pith with mild
bitterness.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Soft sweetness finishes this one off.   Very nice, solid example, bitter yet not biting, with a nice sweet balance.   Well done! reebtogi (6341) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 14, 2012
650ml bomber pours a pale amber color with a thick white head that retains well and leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is pine and citrus with some caramel. Taste is a piney and citrusy hop bitterness with an underlying caramel malty sweetness. A well crafted IPA that is worth trying at least once. riversideAK (6261) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - AUG 5, 2012
Iced tea, caramel, light pine, light dank. Mostly caramel and tea. Awesome. Pours amber golden, thin white head. Flavors of iced tea, caramel, light pine and bitterness. Straightforward with the malt, not much of a hop presence. A good amber I guess. BrewDad (5328) - Olympia, Washington, USA - OCT 7, 2012
Big hoppy IPA. Loved the aroma and flavor. Amber in color, clear with a htin head. Very tasty IPA nice hops citrus flavors blend well with the big malt build. Very good beer.
