Draught at the brewerymcberko (18998) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 7, 2016
Dark amber color, compact head. Dark caramel, not too dry, with a good body strength, a bit dusty.
Decent Amber Ale.
On tap at Big Al, pours a hazy dark amber red with a small beige head. Aroma brings out bready malts and not much else. Flavour is along the same lines, where bready malts and a slight herbal quality. Nothing much going on here. It’s okay. Dogbrick (13789) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - SEP 21, 2012
Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a mostly clear dark amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing. Aroma of malt, caramel and hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of toasted malt, caramel and mild hops. The finish is sweet with a short malty aftertaste. Slightly above average overall. On Tap At Big Al Brewery West Seattle Pours out a nice amber topped with a creamy sand head. Aroma of rich malts and some grain. Tast was a mouthfull of sweet thick malts. Maybe a little touch of wood at the end. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - JAN 26, 2009
Draft at Strange Brew. Pours murky medium brown with a dense and creamy tan head. Mild, nutty, bready nose, fair amount of malt sugar but not cloying or sugary. Light, crisp body, with bracing and well-placed carb. Nutty, bready, dry mid-palate. Mild and restrained, but well made and very drinkable.
luttonm (6763) - Seattle, Washington, USA - AUG 7, 2012
Draft. Heavy rich malt body, dark red caramel brown. Alcohol and sour-alt malting, a bit of a mess. Reminiscent of the ’big red’ beer brewed in Serbia, not a great comparison, funky malts, residual sugars and alc bite. dwyerpg (6413) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - SEP 30, 2009
Somewhat soapy aroma. This is quite smooth. Not too malty or funky. A nice flavorful irish red. riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - JAN 8, 2009
Aroma is pretty malty with noticeable toffee and roast. Pours dark red with little to no head. Flavors of roasted malts, toffee, caramel. No real hop presence. Clean, well done, pleasant. BrewDad (5667) - Olympia, Washington, USA - DEC 11, 2008
