Sample at the brewpub. Cloudy brown color with a medium tan head that diminishes slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of smoked malt. Medium body with a smoky character and flavors of burnt malt, earth and hops. The finish is smoky with a peaty malt and charred wood aftertaste. Decent overall. riversideAK (6260) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - JUL 7, 2012
Nice leather, bbq, and sweet salty smoked notes on the nose. Some light sweetness, brown sugar caramel notes and some light bitterness. Pours brownish copper, thin head. Flavors of sweet salty smoke, light caramel notes, earthy dryness, smokey dryness, very well balanced and drinkable smoked.
