Cask. Nose of dark malts, lactic sourness, a little roasted notes, a little funk and balsamic notes. Pours darker brownish, thin bubbly cask pour head. Flavors of dark malts, lactic tartness, some funky chewy band aid brett, dry roast. Cask carbonation and mouthfeel, a little tart dry lingering chewiness. trevor211 (1681) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 8, 2012
On tap at Brouwer’s Big Wood 2012. A great local example of a Flanders red. Cidery, juicy, and quite flavorful. More dilute than something like Duchesse, but this is good. TheRealMGD (555) - Lakewood, Washington, USA - DEC 7, 2010
Tap 2 Parkway. Clear ruby brown pour with a short pink-tan head leaving a minimal soap-bubble lace. Grape juice nose with a hint of alcohol. Medium-light body with minimal carbonation. Sour, but not overly so - this one defines my ’sour limit’. The underlying malt body is tasty and has caramel and butterscotch notes. Excellent! Nena (963) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 28, 2010
Cask at Caskfest. Medium dark brown pour with a white head. Lots of brown sugar on the aroma, a little tartness, toffee, toast, a hint of roasty coffee. Flavors present in this are quite similar, but with a good dose of nuttiness and vanilla. Has a fairly light, but still very notable, sour kick to it. I found this really interesting and very nice. I liked the combination of sweet and toasty notes with the tartness. carruthm (1400) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 23, 2010
on cask from naked city on feb 18th. Not that sour, but that’s to be expected from the casking. Overall pretty good.
