Bottle. Pours cloudy cider color, small tan head. Aroma is strong dark ale fruitiness and big fruity habanero. Taste is big hot pepper, really intense fruity habanero, and not much else, some sweet malts and hop bitterness. Zero balance. It’s a scorcher, alright.

j12601 (11831) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAR 19, 2015
Bottle at Paul’s for Andy and Max’s Fantasy Football winnings tasting. Pours a hazed amber with a thin white head. A touch of peppers on the nose, a bit of sweetness, sweet and fruity. Medium bodied, warm and spicy, but not overbearing. Sweet and fruity, nice smooth mouthfeel. Heat lingering on the finish with some citrus hops. Heat on here was nice, but it’s certainly a sharing bottle. Might be tough to finish this one solo.

Location: Bottle shared at Max and Andy’s Tasting, 2/28/15

Aroma: Decent aroma actually, oats, light pepper, light hoppy notes
Appearance: Pours a murky orange color, with a nice beige color head
Flavor: Flavor is overwhelmingly pepper, nothing else can make it through
Palate: The drinkability is pretty low due to the overwhelming pepper
Overall Impression: First Big Alice rating, gets me to 96 NY state breweries! Hard to drink, too much pepper. Wouldn’t want much of this.

Bottle shared at the F tasting. Poured a thick orange/brown with a foamy beige head. Aroma of fresh green peppers, green leafy veggies, oatmeal and tomato. Flavor is sweeter than the aroma, loads of peppers, tomato, cabage, honey and medium toast. The body is medium with soft carbonation but way to hot, and I like hot stuff too. Meh.

jtclockwork (16581) - , New Jersey, USA - MAR 1, 2015
Bottle. Pours orange. Nose/taste of hot hot pepper, caramel, flaked oatmeal and spicy citrus. Medium body. Hot hot heat.

jredmond (8284) - New York, New York, USA - FEB 28, 2015
Bottle at Paul’s February 2015. Pours a hazy murky orange. Mouthfeel stings with spice. Overpowered by disgusting pepper character. Can’t taste anything else, a true palate wrecker.

vtafro (7445) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - FEB 28, 2015
Bottle. Brown pour. Heat apparent in aromas. Flavors dominated by peppers and heat. Palate wrecker.

mansquito (6435) - Nueva York, New York, USA - JUN 30, 2014
At a bottle share: Pours murky brown with an off-white head. Aroma is hot peppers and a huge helping of hops. Taste is very bitter and very spicy. The hot pepper lingers quite a while after as well. Unlike Ghost Face Killa, this is drinkable, but this is way more substantially peppered up than Sculpin Habanero or other pepper IPAs I’ve had to date. This is drinkable, but I couldn’t imagine wanting to drink a whole bottle or even a whole glass. For the concept, this is good, but as a beer... well... not so much.
