Draft sampler at FBGF. Poured a reddish brown color with medium frothy off-white head. Moderate sweet malt and hop aroma. Medium body. Average sweet roasted malt flavor with a moderate smooth bitter finish. jcwattsrugger (12524) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - MAR 5, 2006
on tap-pours an offwhite head that laces with copper color. Aroma is medium malty. Taste is medium malt, sweet, then hops. OK carbonation. nick76 (4402) - Tampa, Florida, USA - MAR 4, 2006
UPDATED: MAR 8, 2009 I like this one a lot and almost love it. The aroma is like a cellar where malt is stored with a decent hopping. The appearance is red amber with a small head. The flavor is caramel malt and bitter hops that were not as powerful in the aroma. Thin palate but, overall this one is a winner. In my opinion, it was the best of show FBG 09. omhper (25744) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - AUG 22, 2005
Draught at the brewpub. Reddish amber. Very roasty. Dry with clean, hard mouthfeel and light body. Notes of licorice and orange. Nicely hoppy, but nothing underneath. A well lacquered pint of nothing. Aurelius (5571) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JUN 18, 2005
Musty malt aroma, peaty, fermeted fruit aroma. Orangey amber. Tangy, fruity, medium bittering. Finishes dry with cereal.

Above average irish red. Some extra umpf to the usual flavors, with some tartness in the finish.
