Pours a deep monotonically copper with weak off white head. The aroma is on the light side emitting roasted malts, caramel, some biscuit and faint breadiness. There may also be the faintest hint of citrus hops too. The taste is kind of sweet malts and roasted malts mixed with caramel creating almost a sweet citrus flavor aided by mild citrus hop flavor and faint citrus hop bitterness, if there is any at all. It could just be faint malt astringency. Into the finish I get more mild caramel and sweet malts that fizzle out into the finish. killedge (26) - Miami, Florida, USA - MAR 24, 2008
thin red color... bready aroma with hints of caramel... kind of thin compared to most reds.. good taste of sweet malts and a bit of bread flavor.. finishes with bit of hops that quickly dissipates dimenhetfield (2486) - , Florida, USA - OCT 9, 2009
I don’t know if this is under some other name, but it is definitly their version of an Irish ale. Has red tint with subtle tones of barley and malts. BeerHawk (1810) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Draft. Backlog from Oct 2012. Dark amber in the glass with an off-white head that settled to a ring. Subdue toasted malt aroma. The flavor found toasted malt with a backing of hop. Light to medium body, with a toasted malt aftertaste. TheRimmer (483) - Florida, USA - APR 7, 2004
Above average irish red. Some extra umpf to the usual flavors, with some tartness in the finish.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2009 I like this one a lot and almost love it. The aroma is like a cellar where malt is stored with a decent hopping. The appearance is red amber with a small head. The flavor is caramel malt and bitter hops that were not as powerful in the aroma. Thin palate but, overall this one is a winner. In my opinion, it was the best of show FBG 09. mkuczyns (6) - USA - FEB 22, 2007 does not count

Nicely balanced amber ale. Amber body with a thin white head that did not gave great retention. Aroma had some nice hop notes and a good caramel malt note to it. Caramel malts were mostly present in the flavor but there was a nice hop bitterness there to balance out the sweetness. Not great but nice.
