3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Opaque brown. Smooth and subtle coffee and toast aroma. Still smooth on the palate, full body, a little sweet with more roasted malt. Well hidden alcohol. Nothing to hit you over the head with here, just an unobtrusive, sessionable (at 7% ?) stout.
On tap at the brewery. Black appearance with a mostly dissipating tan head. Notes or roasted malt, molasses, licorice and light chocolate in the nose. Similar flavor. A little thin on the palate. Meh. brokensail (16689) - Dublin, California, USA - OCT 7, 2013

Sample at the brewery. Comes almost black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee. Taste is sweet malt, semi-sweet chocolate, and coffee. Finish is on the sweet side. Very good. onceblind (10889) - Denver, Colorado, USA - SEP 7, 2011
On tap @ brewery. Black with a small dissipating head. Neat chocolaty aroma with burnt toast and roasted cereal grains. Stouty flavor of roasted licorice, chocolate, brown malts, all on a creamy texture. Not superb, but a well made stout nonetheless.

On tap @ brewery. Black appearance with a dark brown head. Roasty, chocolatey, dark malty nose. Roasty, chocolate malty flavor with a note of espresso. My favorite here so far. Ratman197 (15620) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - JUN 15, 2011
On tap at Big Beaver poured a clear dark brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of roastiness, coffee, bitter chocolate and light earthines. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of roasted malt, coffee and bitter chocolate with a smooth dry lingering roasty finish.
