bottle thanks to ..... Pours a clear, pale gold with a thin white head. this had a smell that was a mix of biscuit malt and dirt and hay, or earthy hops. taste was earthy, hay and dirt . Medium sized white head, retention is good with a fair amount of saggy lace. Clear gold in color. Nose of fresh, bready malts and a hint of yeast, light spiceyness. Body is light with a gentle carbonation, clean on the palate. Grainy malt flavors, lightly buttery, caramelly and some earthy, grassy hop notes. Fairly dry, malty finish. Props to oldstylecubfan for the bottle. hophead75 (2012) - Largo, Florida, USA - JUL 8, 2008
Thanks to Emacgee for sending me one of these, unsolicited. Light hazy golden in color. Aroma: lightly bready and yeasty, with some light pale malts. Taste: pale malts with a light honey sweetness, light yeasty with some bread- very smooth, light bodied. Big Boss did a pretty good job with this one. keepersj12 (3114) - Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA - JUL 7, 2008
A very good rendition of this style. Nice light bread and yeast aroma. Big fluffy head. Flavor is crisp and clean. Great for a hot day. biznizness (1128) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUN 28, 2008
This is a really tough style, but Big Boss did a pretty good job with it. Had this at the brewpub in Raleigh... very cool place.

Bottle, thanks to TURDFERGUSON. Pours clear gold under an enormous white head. Aroma of biscuit and hay. Body tends to light, carbonation to medium. Taste of honey, bread, fruit, spice and a dash of lemon. Crisp and lightly floral finish. TheBeerGod (6209) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - JUN 22, 2008
Bottle. Label shows 4.5% ABV. Will adjust. Lightly hazed golden pour. Rapidly vanishing white head. Nose is chock full of grains, soft lemon and honey and light grassy notes. Taste is grainy, grassy, lightly floral hops, some buttery biscuit, and light lemon. Body is light-medium and rather crisp during the finish. Mild carbonation throughout. Fades quickly. The finish is made up of more strong grain, slightly burnt buttered biscuit, light lemon and grass hops. Not bad at all! ChainGangGuy (4894) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - JUN 21, 2008
Appearance: Pours a clear, orangey body with a thin, wispy, white head.
Smell: Light, slightly sweet-smelling grainy scent with an addition of a crisp white wine.
Taste: Subtly sweet pale maltiness with a touch of grains. Light hint of fruit. Dash of white wine. Spicy hops with prominent, medium bitterness that lasts till the dry finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium-low carbonation.
Drinkability: I could stand to see more carbonation here, but it’s fairly on track for the style, but also pleasant, tasty beer in it’s own right. CaptainCougar (7133) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - JUN 20, 2008
Pours a transparent brass golden color with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of grainy pale German malts and mild noble hops. Body starts semi-sweet with some good, crisp bittering and flavor hoppiness before a smooth bittersweet finish. Doesn’t quite have the mild fruity notes of a true Kölsch, but is a pretty nice Pilsener. ATLBeerDog (280) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JUN 20, 2008
Pours a very light orange pale with not much carbonation. No head. Light smells of yeast. First taste is rather bland followed by a slight bitterness. Very light and mild. More flavor than I expected.
