On tap at the brewery. Near black brew with some tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, raspberry, some chocolate. Lots of raspberry flavor, smooth and chocolaty.

Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is a big raspberry with some char malt and alcohol. Flavor is a thick sweet cloying raspberry, a minor roasted malt with a little alcohol heat. Finish leaves a nice berry on the tongue as this goes down. I dont get much "Belgian" aspects out of this but as a fruit flavored porter this is fine just a little bit too much of boozy hotness.

Bottle shared with my wife. Pours a clear dark brown with a faint tanned white head at the edges. Big stone fruit and yeast on the nose, a soft bit of cocoa and some papery oxidization. Medium-bodied, sweet and fruity, berries over warming sweet alcohol, roast and cocoa. Raspberry and chocolate syrup through warm booze, fruity yeast.

Very tasty Ale. You can really taste the raspberry. Slight bitter but well balanced. Did not notice much lace or head. Would drink again

bottle. Deep brown with small head. This sounds much better than it is in reality. The chocolate and raspberry flavors seem to be fighting. The creaminess of the malt is interrupted by the tartness of the berries with a boozyness that doesnt help. I like the idea, but not quite there.

From my future son in law. Smells like alarming volatile fruit. First taste is a big alky whallop. Yes, quite high in alky impact. Alky overcomes the whole personality of this brew. Way over the top, youd never know its a fruit beer, heheh. Yes, this is black beer but its not stoutish at all.

12 oz. bottle. Pours black, with a medium, tan head. The aroma is bitter chocolate, tart raspberries, some earthiness, and a little cinnamon. Mild sweetness, with a significant bitterness and just a hint of tartness. Medium body, lightly acidic, sticky and astringent. Overall, this is a nice attempt, but it is much too bitter. Not really pleasant to drink.
