Draft (at Kaya’s Place, Puerto Viejo).
Head is mostly diminishing.
Body is dark brown to black.
Aroma is moderately to heavily malty (chocolate syrup, cocoa, roasted grain).
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, syrupy/watery texture, soft carbonation.
Another overly sweet, fairly simple brew. PMgep (280) - Lund, SWEDEN - MAR 7, 2013
Sourness was still there so it taste a bit weird for a porter. According to JT who brew I had and old batch and they are still doing a lot of changes to the recipe. solidfunk (8965) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - DEC 26, 2012
Had a lot of beers with chocolate, but not so many with the cacao fruit itself. This one’s a strange one. Not sure if it’s the bitter/sourness of raw cacao or that the beer is contaminated - probably a little of both. Pours a murky brown, no head but fizzy carbonation. Needs a little work. On tap at Kaya’s in Puerto Viejo.
