Smooth and tasty. Good dark porter with a creamy head. Medium body with no bitter finish. This beer exceeds my expectations for a start up brew pub. I purchased two growlers to serve at home. jcweaver (768) - VA Beach, Virginia, USA - OCT 23, 2011

Draft at Awful Arthurs. Pours a reddish black from tap. Slight chocolate notes on the nose. Tastes a bit burnt on the tongue. Clean finisher. Least favorite so far. magsinva (1250) - Virginia, USA - SEP 4, 2011
Tap @ awful Arthur’s tower mall - Pours a blackish red with a finger of off white head. Aroma is chocolate, but hard to detect since the restaurant is smokey from the attached bar/club next door . Taste is mild- spicy, sweet, bitter, with a bit of a charcoal finish. Not really tasting the 8% alcohol. overall, it’s OK, a bit bland for a porter.

Tried again at the River Bend Beer Fest in Sept. 10, and found it to be much better. No notes, but score updated to reflect the more positive experience with this beer (though still factoring in the first one).
