COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed as a medium India Pale Ale, this full-flavored moderately hopped beer has the strongest hop character of our ales. Made for hopheads and new beer aficionados. The grist composition is 94% Pale malt, with the remaining grain bill consisting of carastan malts. The finishing Mt. Hood hop addition in the whirlpool gives this beer a good hop character without becoming excessively bitter. The beer is fined instead of filtered so the hop character is not stripped away.

1.1 Light chestnut color. Oily fine bubbled head. Slight mahoganyesque taste, nutty in that way. Almost like a light amber overhopped. Citrusy (spicy like grapefruit) hops complimented by a nice touch of alcohol in the aftertaste.

Sampled at Ram-Rosemont, 10/26/15. Citrus and a bit of pine. Caramel notes. Rye bread. Medium bodied. Decent feel. Decent overall.

RAM Restaurant. Opaque red copper, white lacing foam ring. Hoppy aroma, bitter taste, initial sweet, changing quickly into bitterness. Lasting taste. (Chicago 201510)

On tap at Big Horn U District, pours a cloudy dirty amber with a small white head. Nose brings out lots of dank resinous hops, some herbal hops, and bready caramel. Flavour is a bit disjointed, with stale bready caramel malt and resinous hops. The balance isn’t quite right, as there seem to be some strange flavours in here. Not a big fan, but it’s not a disaster.

brokensail (16633) - Dublin, California, USA - AUG 28, 2015
On tap @ Ram - Kent. Amber in color with some off-white foam. Probably their best beer, at least of the regular lineup. There’s a lot of pine and citrus rind character along with some bread and toast. Definitely more caramel than I’d like, though. Pretty floral and slightly grassy, too. Decent enough bitterness.

Draft - Pine and grapefruit. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Tropical fruit and grapefruit with a nice balanced bitterness. Very nice and fruity.

Tap at the Schaumburg IL location. Slightly hazy golden orange pour with a very small head. Juicy citrus aroma and taste. Not super rich or complex, but quite serviceable.

"a nice solid ipa. bitter and aromatic. not overly exciting, but nothing bad either. well balanced and dry in the finish with a little citrus and a little spice and biscuit malt."

Sampler at Schaumburg. Far and away the best beer I had at Ram. Big grapefruit rind hop tones. Easy drinking, with a steady classic NW hop bill. Nice to end the otherwise lackluster sampler with. Right on.
