Sampler at the Schaumburg RAM. Okay, maybe it’s because I’m chatting with the friendly brewmaster, but I’m really liking this stuff. That and the fact that a sampler "Curl" is $5, no matter how many samples are on it, and I have 10! So this is a derker amber color, and still has a good layer of foam although it’s been on the bar a while. Again, my nose was hampered by a cold and restroom soap, so just a general yes on the aroma. A large pine and resin hop note that swims to coat my soft palate. In other words, a hop goblin.

Appearance: Medium honey amber. Slightly hazy. Thin layer of small white bubbles.
Nose: Some dank and a touch of pine. Malt and caramel.
Taste: malt forward sweet and a little dank with just a hint of pine hops.
Body: medium with less aggressive carbonation
Parting thoughts: I honestly thought that this was an slightly hoppy amber, not a red IPA. That being said, I think it falls short on the IPA end of the spectrum. Flavor a bit meh overall.

Medium gold hue, mostly musty nose with some hops, initial watery sensation gives way to OK malt taste with a little citrus but very little hop character. On tap at brewpub at University Village in Seattle. Pours cloudy orange-gold with small creamy white head and lacing. Aroma: mango, tangerine, pineapple, orange, pine. Flavor: all of the above, but with a grainy finish and somewhat of a wet cardboard taste. Mouthfeel: medium- to full-bodied, somewhat astringent.

Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a soft hazy copper color with a thin off white fizzy to semi-foamy head that dissipated fairly quick. Sly lace.
The aroma had some sweet graininess up front and then floral hops. Toast, biscuits and some toffee maltiness.
The flavor leaned towards the maltiness, somewhat sweet but straining the graininess along with the toast on into the fullness of this beer. Lingering malty aftertaste. Sly toast to floral to citrus finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Low carbonation. ABV felt fine as projected.
Overall, ok AIPA but there’s so many on the market these days and I don’t know if this was supposed to lean to the American or the English side. Sometimes I feel like I’m just supposed to throw up my hands in this day and age.

Slightly hazy copper body with a minimal fizzy off-white head. The nose is husky and grainy with some toasted malt and minimal floral hoppiness. The flavor has an odd chemical finish after the husky and grainy malt fade. The hops are pretty minimal in here, just a light citrus note and minimal bitterness. draft at source. Hazy orange to light red pour with no head. Nose is a mix of caramel and light citrus. Taste is bordering on bread crust and toast with a moderate to strong bitterness. Firkin offering at Alefort. grapefruit added to this, making it much more citrusy. However, I didn’t think the fruit complemented the malt bill, making for a confused palate.
