Fantastic stuff. I’m really into Black IPAs, and this is sweet! Great mix of a big porter style with lots of citrus hops on the head. Chocolate malt and citrus on the finish. I dig it. Very well done! Wish they had it all year long.
Nice roasty and dry piney/floral bitterness on the nose. Pours dark brown with a nice bubbly tan creamy head. The flavor is roasty and dry with nice piney bitterness and danky floral flavors. Nice resiny dryness and bitterness lingers. Solid drinkability. A really nice black ipa. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - AUG 11, 2010
Draft at northgate. Pours black with a dense and creamy tan head that falls quickly away. Mildly charcoaly nose with piney notes mixed in. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Charcoal, ash, and resinous pine on the mid palate. You keep thinking its about to get sweet but it stays dry and even pretty bitey all the way through. Nice roast and resin finish. Drinkable and even kinda bold, specially fer a chain.
