The most complex of our beer line-up with a combination of five different malts and four different hop varieties. Buttface has the broadest popular appeal of our beers. It has a high malt character and lack of evident hops. This surprises people because it is easy to drink, but has a higher alcohol content than what is perceived.

(Bottle) Aroma is better than the name implies. Pours deep amber brown color with a small white head. Okay, but nothing overly exciting.

Dogbrick (13012) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JAN 15, 2004
UPDATED: JAN 16, 2004 From a sampler at the Indy location: This beer is a dark copper/amber color with a medium light tan head. Fair lacing. The aroma is somewhat hoppy with a pinch of nuttiness. Medium body, with a tangy hops and overly sweet malt character. The finish is a little unbalanced on the sweet side too. Although I wasn't very impressed with this one it wasn't offensive or anything.

Watery repaid amber ale. Light grainnress. Some off flavors like rubberish.

hopdog (12552) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 9, 2006
On tap at the Broomfield, CO location. Poured a medium amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas and tastes of caramel, lightly nutty and citrus. On the sweeter side.

12oz bottle-pours a foamy light tan head and copper color. Aroma is mild medium malt-caramel. Taste is medium malt-caramel/toasty, fruit-cherry, secondary spicy hops. OK carbonation.

"the most boring beer in the six beer sampler. toffee malt is nice, but the hop presence is barely noticeable and there is little balance. no need to try again. pretty standard amber."

shrubber85 (11408) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - DEC 2, 2011
Tap. Light toffee malt aroma. Clear dark amber color with small head. Sweet toffee malt and moderately bitter herbal hops flavor. Decent.

hopscotch (11101) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 5, 2008
(Ram Restaurant and Brewery, Schaumburg, IL) Draft... DLD’08... Clear amber ale with a vanishing head. Aromatic and flavorful chocolate and caramel malts with a nutty undertone. Medium-bodied, coarse, and abrasively dry with ticklish carbonation. Mojave-dry finish. Another over-attenuated beer from this brewpub. Too bad as it has loads of potential. Just throw a little residual sugar a brother’s way!

Tasted on tap at the Fort Collins Horserooth location. Medium to dark yellow/orange appearance. Nutty and amber appearance. Medium bodied flavor with amber malts and fairly strong hints of nuts. Great beer to kick back a six pack of.
