Right in line with the other beers that I’ve sampled from the Ram, basic, average, and by-the-numbers. Hence the exactly middle-of-the-road rating. Very whetish, with a little fruit mixed in. Pretty good, if basic (and really, I’m sure they have to make their stuff basic to cater to their clients)

This pours a cloudy orange w/ no head. Nice banana aroma w/ an earthy overtone. Slick mouthfeel but kind of watery as well. Earthy sort of bitterness in the finish. This isn’t a poorly put together beer but it doesn’t really have the juicy vibrancy I look for in a hefe.

This is an ok hef. This one i had at the puyallup ram. Decent aroma and good medium head

On tap at brewery in Chicago. This hefeweizen gets a 50% in every category. This hefe tastes just like every other hefe out there. Nothing stands out. Smells wheat, cloudy appearance, yellow hue, tastes banana and clove ester notes..

Cloudy banana color and aroma. A little bitter and tastes like carbonated water has overrun it.

Sampler at brewpub in Arlington. Comes hazy yellow with small white head. Aroma of yeast, grain, and spices. Taste is malt, citrus, and grain. OK.

Tap. Pours hazy, pale yellow with thin, fizzy white head; short retention and minimal lacing. Aroma is banana, cloves, cereal malt, lemon, and light orange peel. Flavor is bland, bready malts, banana, herbs, and light grassy hops; dry finish. Light body and low carbonation.

2.5
Aurelius (5662) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JUN 12, 2003
UPDATED: JUN 13, 2003 Prominent banana ester nose, without much else going on in the bouquet. Muddy, brown-yellow beer. Quite tart, yeasty with a quick tart finish. Slightly substandard mouthfeel, and not much hops. Much better with the lemon.
