COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A true German-style hefeweizen made with 45% malted wheat, unmalted wheat, Munich malt and 2-row barley. The yeast is a southern German style strain. The flavor profile includes clove and banana undertones. This beer is unfiltered and slightly phenolic. The hop additions are all traditional Hallertauer hops.

Tap at the Ram in Seattle.

Pours a light cloudy brown-yellow. The aroma is a typical banana and bubblegum aroma, but slightly syrupy and rather caricatured. The flavor is actually somewhat sour and rancid relative to the target, making it thoroughly unenjoyable. Mouthfeel is thin. Another disappointment on the night.

tap, thick bodied dark yellow with no head, (not a classic wheat cloudy appearance), almost no aroma with faint sweet malt notes, no hops on nose, taste the same, no hops noted, no real banana or clove, easy drinkin, but nothing special

Draft at Humperdinks in Arlington. Cloudy orange. Aroma of intense and massive (?artificial) bubblegum. Taste is strangely bitter and sour. Unpleasant.

From a sampler at the Indy location: RAM prides itself on not serving their Hefe with a lemon. The bad news is this is not a very good beer and it might have been better with a lemon. Pours a hazy gold color with a thin white head. Not much lacing at all. The aroma is not bad, with some clove, citrus and banana. The taste however was kind of disturbing. It takes like Mr. Bubble to me for some reason. It was hard to detect any wheat characteristics under the odd bath soap flavor. Same goes for the finish, it pretty much ruined the beer. I'd give it another shot but this was just not right.

Pours a hazy light yellow with little head. Aroma is the traditional hefeweizen yeast banana and clove character. Taste is wheat, clove, banana, and spices. Not the most flavorful hefe, but its ok.

Schaumburg Illinois. Opaque medium golden. Excessively sweet candyish (for candy-asses) nose, very soft body, no hops within a mile-and-a-half, lemony, artificial flavor, weak, tolerable in comparison with some of the other samples.

Orange and sweet. Like an orange soda that you used to get at McDonalds before the changed the receipe and went with Minute Maid. If you remember that then you know what this tastes like. If not then it tastes artificial with orange peel accents bitter weak and not so good.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2015 At the Rosemont location. Unfortunately I found this quite watery. Almost seemed like just a Wheat ale as it didnt have much of the hefeweizen characteristics. A mess. Serving: Tap

UPDATED: JUN 19, 2003 This beer has the right mouthfeel but the wrong flavor. Some wheat, more banana than clove, unpleasant at first. Dry finish. Drinkable but boring. Every micro and brewpub makes one of these, few get it right. Feels a little stronger than most wheats im used to. Dallas Greenville Avenue location. Re-rate 6/19/03: Awful flavor and aroma. Smells like a toilet. Something is really wrong with this. Maybe it was old. This stuff was BAD.
