On tap at the Rosemont, IL brewpub. Poured into a chilled glass again, ugh. Very deep brown colored body with an inch thick, dense and very creamy, light brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing throughout. Aroma is pretty pleasant. A milky chocolate sweetness with some caramel and a light roast. Flavor is similar. A bit thin, but tasty enough. Milky chocolates up front with a nice caramel sweetness. A more distinct coffee presents itself in the light-moderate roastiness that grows a touch towards the end along with a hint of earthy hops. Finishes with a nice chocolate sweetness that’s a bit chalky along with a light, coffee and earthy bitterness. Dry before leaving a lengthy aftertaste. Light body with a moderate, soft carbonation. Overall, not a bad porter. Pleasant milky chocolate and caramel with a solid-coffee roast. The chilled glass sucks, but this was enjoyable. Had in Dallas @ Humperdinks as the Humperdinks brand .. . Medium dark brown, very light foam .. no lacing .. . low smell of tart burnt molasses .. . thin, and only lightly roasty .. . Disorder is right... . Then came the rocks -- jagged rocks, hitting me with their jags. skoisirius (1908) - Earth, Washington, USA - JUN 26, 2011

Tap in Schaumburg. Pours dark brown/black with a medium, fizzy tan head, medium-short retention with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (roast, chocolate), no hops, and notes of wood and dates. Flavor is malt dominant. Light body, low warmth, medium carbonation and a dry finish. Narnad (1521) - Crystal Lake, Illinois, USA - MAY 17, 2011
Arrived to the table a dark black in color with a low tan head. Sweet prune, dark chocolate, light coffee with a mild burn round out the nose. Sweet plum fruitiness hits first in the taste with notes of chocolate, strong overall sweetness and a light cigar ending. Feels creamy and has pretty low carbonation. Overall an okay offering by the RAM in Schaumburg, IL. Travlr (26404) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - APR 18, 2011

Aroma is chocolate and sweet on the nose. Appearance is dark brown/.black. Slightly sweet and balanced out with chocolate notes. Crisp, lightly hopped, . Reminds me more of an amber or ESB then a porter. Great with a burger, steak, or bbq.. bpreo (3011) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - FEB 14, 2011
Easily their best beer. Was highly recommended to me even before I got to the restaurant.
