COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the silver medal winner in the Brown Porter division of the 1996 Great American Beer Festival. The mash temperature is higher to produce body and mouth feel. The 2-row barley base, in addition to a combination of chocolate and carastan malts, gives this beer a smooth, round character with chocolate undertones. Many people who normally don’t drink dark beers will drink this beer.

The body was black with a tan head. The taste was what I describe as a medium-intensity porter flavor. In other words, there are better porters out there but there are ones that are worse too.

Opaque coffee brown pour with minimal creamy head. Chocolate coffee aroma with matching taste. Moderate to thick body with a sticky mouthfeel. Chocolate and coffee aftertaste.

On tap in a very well-priced sampler. Opaque dark brown-near black color. Mildly smokey nose, some coffee malts. Smokey flavor. Heavy, but good.

Light roasted malt aroma. Thin body. Light coffee and roasted malt flavor. Nothing special.

Had this at the brewpub in Littleton CO on 06-May-2008. Nice dark color, bit of tan head. No discernable odor whatsoever. Taste was very sour and acerbic. Nasty stuff. Could be a bad batch or some that was way past its sell-by date, but if this is how it always tastes, I would NOT recommend this beer to anyone.

Arlington Location- A good creamyfull bodied porter, if you like dry porters, this one isn’t for you. It has a nice dark brown color with a dark tan bubbly head. Aroma is sweet and roasted with strong rosasted malt flavors. This one is a nice treat after a long day.

Aroma is chocolate and sweet on the nose. Appearance is dark brown/.black. Slightly sweet and balanced out with chocolate notes. Crisp, lightly hopped, . Reminds me more of an amber or ESB then a porter. Great with a burger, steak, or bbq..

Had it on tap at the RAM. It was dark and had a good chocolate balance in the flavor.

Aroma, flavor... what aroma? What flavor? This didn't taste like anything at all to me, horrible porter. Didn't like either of the beers sampled from this brewery, huge disappointment.
