(I.P.A). was developed in England around 1800; the extra strength in alcohol and hops helped preserve the beer on its long export journeys to India and beyond. The style has developed a following worldwide. Ours begins with smooth, malty creaminess and a big burst of dry-hop flavor and aroma from a variety of American hops. It finishes with a lingering yet pleasant bitterness. Is it Overboard? You decide.

From bottle in less-than-appropriate flanged glass in room at Hilton Hawaiian Village. In spite of this, it was quite a smooth, enjoyable drop. Cloudy amber with fleeting head. More creamy malt than hop-driven putting it in the minority of the IPA community. Still, it was quite nice.

22 oz bottle. From a supermarket in Honolulu, HI. Clear amber color with a tiny grayish white head. Piney hops, moderate bitterness, sweet malt, dried fruits and sugar in the aroma. The flavor is sweet fruity hops, canned fruits, pineapple, herbs, moderate bitterness and sweet malt. Balanced. Oh boy I wish I had this fresh! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

65 cl bottle @ Timo A. Thanks rosenbergh!
Pours clear orange color with a small head. Nice floral hoppy aroma with tropical fruits, some resin and pine. Flavor is fruity and somewhat sweet, resinous hoppy and slightly malty too, some pineapple on the background. Bitter palate. Nice, though this would be excellent more fresh.

Bottle: Poured a light orange color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and some light lacing notes. Aroma of citrus hops notes with dry malt base. Taste is also dominated by citrus hops notes with light bitter notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Old school IPA with maybe a little shortage on the hops flavours side of things.

Impressive tropical fruit aroma in a golden amber pour. Flavour is similarly fruity without becoming sweet. Restrained finish is crisp and clean. Probably the best of the local (Hawaii) brews Ive had so far.

On tap at lava lava. A very hoppy IPA and also very good. The best Hawaiian beer I have had. A very good IPA regardless of where it was brewed. Hoppy flowery smell with a nice sweet hoppy taste:
