Big Mama Stout is brewed from 5 types of barley malt and some rye malt in combination with Summit and Willamette whole flower hops. It is then “dry-hopped” with American hops and cocoa nibs from Madagascar. Our Belgian dark beer will improve during the first year of aging by developing delicate aromas of chocolate balanced by a moderate bitterness. We recommend tasting it at cellar temperature.

Swaroga (2223) - Warszawa, - NOV 13, 2012
UPDATED: JUL 20, 2016 75cl bottle. Dark brown with very big tanned head. It’s not easy to open this beer without spoiling the half of it on the floor. Nose : rich notes of burned malts with dominating black chocolate, dairy, toffee, cheese and nuts. Some honey and flower notes. Sip : medium body with cream like texture. Medium carbonation, a bit more then a typical stout. It’s a sweet beer with quite distinguished cocoa flavor. Got some other flavors balanced in like burned malts, toffee, dried fruits, banana and honey. The alcohol content is warming. Ending is mostly sweet, burned and a bit earthy dry but dominated by black chocolate like feeling. The beer is quite delicious.

Bottle. Dark brown, bubbly tan head. The general coke-like appearance is accompanied by somewhat coke-like nose (or am I just glad to see it?), but the advertised cocoa is there too, in the form of hot chocolate. Taste, first chocolatey, sweet, turns fairly dry in the finish, which is quite pleasant, but also giving an impression of a rather empty body for the hefty ABV.

Bottled 330ml. -from Beergium. Brown coloured, medium sized brownish head, mild caramel in the nose. Sweetish roasted malt, some caramel, notes of milk chocolate and caramel with discreet alcohol presence. Bitterish finish, pretty high carbonation. Quite a disappointment.

Bottle 33 cl venant de chez Beer Lovers (Chenee). Liquide brun fonce ou noir clair. Mousse beige stable a 1 cm.

No foam top. Rather weak aroma. Strange bitter taste similar to cocoa powder. After taste is rather dusty.

Fortement carboné pour un stout. Amertume prononcée. Légère pour un stout, plutôt un porter. Gout de cacao, torréfaction.

Bottled 330ml (Beergium)
Bottled says now "Cacao nibs". Toasted, vegetably aroma. Some chocolate. Medium-bodied. Front has chocolate malts, caramel, rye bread and then sticky vegetable notes. Yeasty. Meh.
