Big Mama Stout is brewed from 5 types of barley malt and some rye malt in combination with Summit and Willamette whole flower hops. It is then “dry-hopped” with American hops and cocoa nibs from Madagascar. Our Belgian dark beer will improve during the first year of aging by developing delicate aromas of chocolate balanced by a moderate bitterness. We recommend tasting it at cellar temperature.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2016 75cl bottle. Dark brown with very big tanned head. It’s not easy to open this beer without spoiling the half of it on the floor. Nose : rich notes of burned malts with dominating black chocolate, dairy, toffee, cheese and nuts. Some honey and flower notes. Sip : medium body with cream like texture. Medium carbonation, a bit more then a typical stout. It’s a sweet beer with quite distinguished cocoa flavor. Got some other flavors balanced in like burned malts, toffee, dried fruits, banana and honey. The alcohol content is warming. Ending is mostly sweet, burned and a bit earthy dry but dominated by black chocolate like feeling. The beer is quite delicious.

750ml bottle. Jet black colour with huge, firm, foamy, half-way lasting, sulphureous-beige head. Chocolately dark malty and earthy fruity, yeasty, minimally dusty aroma, notes of bramble and blueberry, corresponding shrubs, hints of cocoa. Taste is slightly sweet dark malty and yeasty fruity, notes of bramble and blueberry, black cherry, dark chocolate, dry cocoa powder, a touch of cola; prickling carbonation. Relatively light, nice earthy fruitiness.

300ml bottle - thanks Martjoobolut!
Black, tight tan head, pretty filigree of lacing. Slightly muddy aroma, some nice esters. Taste also estery, nicely roasty. Finish has a decent bitterness. However, there’s a dirtiness I’m no fan of too. Did cover the alcohol reasonably, I guess. 3.3 seems like an overrate.

330ml bottle (thanks Mart). Clear brown color. Medium size, off-white head, stays. Cocoa powder, roast, some herbal straw in aroma. Cocoa, roast, soft kama chocolate in taste. Fizzy carbonation. Sweet and hints of cocoa in aftertaste. Alcohol is hidden. Feels thin and fizzy.

This beer pours delicately with a firm chocolate milk head and a nose that is smaller than expected. Malty tones and some coffee is present. The taste is also rich and full of coffee notes along with some slight hops. Very light metallic taste remains also for the palate. Palate is not to long but still not bad.

0.33l bottle. Black body, light beige head. Aroma of caramel, orange, grapes, elderflower and cocoa. Taste of caramel, cocoa, pine, chocolate, grapefruit and grassy hops. It has very limited roasted malt characher, that is quite suprising from a stout. I still like it though.
