Bottle. Cheers to Colin (I think!) for bringing this along. The pour’s deep brown with a tiny head. The aroma’s of cinnamon, chocolate, nutmeg and spice. The taste is mildly tangy jammy red berries. Hints of peppery hot. Ashy chocolate body. Nice roasty dry finish. Medium/full body. Soft carbonation. Overall, a pretty tasty beer. Scopey (14498) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 15, 2013
Bottle at Jack & Leighton’s birthday celebration, thanks to teorn88. It pours darkest brown with a small light tan head. The nose is varnish, pine, light roast, coffee, toast and a touch of chocolate. The taste is roasted malt, coffee, toast, varnish, pine, earth, coffee, faint acidity and light tangy fruit. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A tasty hoppy stout. teorn88 (7671) - Rimini, ITALY - APR 13, 2013
75cl bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell. This was a good surprise. It pours a deep dark brown colour with a large beige head. Aroma is roasty and chocolatey with a definite tartness. Taste is similarly well balanced between sweet caramel, roasted malts, coffee flavours and the tartness. As it warms up the acidic character comes through and make this a very interesting offering. I didn’t see that coming. Beerschot13 (5) - laakdal, BELGIUM - FEB 10, 2013 does not count
this black stout is a very good one . Full body, nice taste of dark chocolate and cold coffee with a slightly bitter ending. It’s brewed in Belgium together with an Italian brewer. This kind of beer is one of my favourites. MrHangover (4439) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - FEB 8, 2013
Bottle. Pours a black, impenetrable beer with a creamy tanned head. Aroma has licorice, chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor is very sweet, has some fruity notes, alongside with some raisins. Very nice in balance, great beer.

Black that light does not penetrate with a thick creamy, tan, lasting, super lacy head. Smells of liquorish, chocolate, hops and malt with, caramel and raisin. Light thin frothy body. Tastes of dark chocolate and roasted malt and some booze and a bit of tangy red citrus on the finish. Not bad. deanso (10070) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - FEB 8, 2013

Thick tan head. Clear deep burgundy pour. Nice chocolatey notes. bartlebier (3946) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - DEC 20, 2012
75cl bottle, Geers - Surprisingly light and dry chocolate stout with only 6ABV - drinkable and pleasant with light toasted notes. Could be a bit more full-bodied and rounder, but the chocolate bitterness is a nice touch for a stout this light. In the same category but: finer than the Dupont Monk Stout and not as luxurious & fullfilling as the JeanChris No. 2. TickerTerryDJ (633) - Redditch, Worcestershire, ENGLAND - DEC 19, 2012
75cl bottle couertesy of Shaun.
Poured black with beige head.Coffee and dark chocolate aromas with a hint of fruit, plums maybe.Roast malt and coffee flavour with raisins and plums.Nice stout but a little too light bodied and a little under strength for my tastes. gunnar (9007) - Sandnes, NORWAY - DEC 9, 2012
Bottle. Pours deep ruby, almost black with a big creamy off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, light roasted malts. Taste is light roasted, weak sweet chocolate, fruity, a bit high carbonation level. Lingering light roasted caramel.
