COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A marriage of an American Brown Ale with a hop-centric India Pale Ale. A monster of an ale with robust malt backbone and a mean hop-streak. The beer is brewed with five different varieties of specialty malts, three hop additions during the boil and a generous dose of Citra hops during conditioning to give the beer a lively, distinctive aroma that hits the senses before the first sip is ever taken.

Drake (14043) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 14, 2011
Sampled on draft at GTMW 2011. Pours a hazy dark amber color with a thin creamy head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of big bitter, earthy hops. The taste is earthy hops and toffee. Medium bodied.

crossovert (13421) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 26, 2013
Thinner, lower on hop character and hop bitterness, maing it a generic brown ale.

hopscotch (11175) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 3, 2012
Bottle… Pours clear and brown with a shimmer of burnt-orange and a small, creamy, mushroom-colored head. Decent retention. The nose offers fudge and floral, piney, citrusy hops. Light-bodied and watery with lively carbonation. The flavor provides medium to heavy metallic bitterness along with a solid note of unsweetened cocoa. Bitter, toasted, bone-dry finish. Bottle courtesy of KickInChalice!

DuffMan (10549) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 6, 2012
Bottle, shared with Parksy. Medium to darkish brown, medium tan head that shows decent retention. Aroma is equally hoppy and malty, citrus oil and chocolate. Palate is a tad thin, but the flavours are nice: chocolatey malts and slightly spicy fruity hops with a moderately bitter finish. A nice hoppy little brown.

drfabulous (8224) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - JAN 29, 2015
22 ounce bottle from Binny’s. Chocolate and light malt. Light body. If it was hoppy, no more in a significant way. Decent.

AirForceHops (7546) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 5, 2014
650 ml bottle purchased at Binny’s Lincoln Park. Deep brown color, dare I say muddy brown. Aroma is earthy malts, dried leaves, damp top soil, with burnt caramel and cocoa powder.

Flavor is pretty much the same with a slightly amplified hop profile. Hop some more pine to me then anything else with bitterness being only low and mildly lingering. Citra hop doesn’t show up for me much at all. Decent with a dry texture that does make me want to take another sip take.

3.3
Strykzone (7490) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - AUG 16, 2011
Picked up a bomber at Randalls. This pours a dark brown with a nice little foamy head that never leaves. The aroma and flavor are pretty much the same. Roasted nuts and caramel and spicy, fruity hops. It is generally sour with some sweetness. This was pretty decent and not all that far from being very good.

3.6
wlajwl (6946) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - JUN 28, 2012
Aroma is malts, citrus hops and a slight off-note. The flavor is citrus/grapefruit, fruit, caramel, malts and a dryish, bitter finish.

22 ounce bottle. Thanks Joe! Pours dark brown with a nice tan head. Aroma of citrus, florals, malt, and chocolate. Taste is citrus, caramel, roast, florals, and chocolate. Interesting and delicious Brown Ale.
