4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Great vanilla nose, solid, clean, and full of vanilla flavor. Jet black with a nice ring of head. Hints of chocolate and roasted malt but not too much. Nicely balanced. Could drink this all winter long...yummy!
12 ounce bottle. Translucent cola brown color. Large frothy "root beer" head. Roasted malt nose reminiscent of dark caramel and vanilla. Flavor is light roasted malt. Notes of vanilla and sweet malt. Nutty toasted pecans in midtaste. Mild dark corn syrup notes in finish. More like a porter or brown ale than a stout. RSRIZZO (1986) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - OCT 28, 2016
12oz bottle (courtesy of Headbanger) poured into a Shaker at 42°. Color is a deep dark mahogany with good carbonation and a small off white head. Aroma is light with a faint roasted scent and just a hint of sweetness. It has a medium body and a slightly smooth mouth feel. Flavor is better then the aroma lets on with sweet roasted coffee, vanilla and a hint of spice. In the after taste a mild bitterness shows balancing out the sweet and the vanilla comes out a little more. Overall it’s lighter then I like a stout but the flavor is good. Impressive bottle of beer! Muddy is a local brewery to me...this brew is one that makes me proud of it. Very smooth drink and the vanilla comes through nicely. The bottle I had was Eagle Rare...Bourbon Barrel aged. All flavors came though nicely...none over powering...none underwhelming either. Smooth and enjoyable. oldrtybastrd (5002) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - APR 13, 2016
Pours a nice dark brown. Aromas of malts and chocolate. Flavors of oats, slight caramel, roasted malts and some slightly burnt chocolate tones.

It poured a black color with a tiny white head. The aroma was of vanilla, very nice and full of vanilla flavor. The taste was of chocolate and roasted malt but not too much. A very tasty Vanilla Stout. Larry_Duffman (537) - - DEC 23, 2015
I poured it from the bottle into a glass. It pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head and some lacing. The aroma is vanilla and gingerbread. The taste is the same with hints of sugary milk. It was a bit too sweet. It was smooth on the palate with some carbonation. The more I had, the sweeter I got. It was decent. Bottle. Pours a deep brown with a good tan head and lace. Good amount of vanilla along with chocolate, roasted malts and cream. Medium-bodied, with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel and modest carbonation. Good stuff GTAEgeek (2220) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - NOV 17, 2015
12 oz. bottle. Black pour, with a big, foamy, tan head. Nose is strong vanilla, butterscotch, light coffee, and pecans. Cloying sweetness, with a touch of bitterness. Medium body, syrupy, and a little acerbic. This is a pretty nice beer, with a ton of vanilla. The vanilla is nice, but the base stout is lacking. Wanted to like this more than I did, but it’s just too sweet and too much vanilla. Not terrible, just mediocre. Little thin, smell is meh.
