2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pale golden pour that’s just a touch hazy. Long lasting white foamy head. Very grassy and grainy. A little bit of that earthy smell I found in the Red. Again it has that earthy taste. I’m really thinking it’s the Big Rig hops, which I’ve officially decided I dig. Very different from the Red other than that. This is thinner and easier to drink. Grassy and maybe even a bit corny. There’s a sweet spike in the taste just before the finish I find doesn’t fit. Not bad and easy to drink but not nearly as good as the Red.
Keg at Big Rig Brewery, Ottawa. Clear golden, small head. Bready, mildly buttery malt aroma. Mid sweet with medium body and well rounded mouthfeel. Grass, bread and mild butter. Mid bitter finish. Nice, deep malt profile. Good drinkability. Like a top fermented Dortmunder. My favourite from this brewer. vsyrbu (141) - MOLDOVA - JAN 12, 2017
in flavor has floral notes and a strange smell, which resembles something cheese. A little hop, a little wheat, a little flowers and a simple finish teamrunkle (381) - Nova Scotia, CANADA - NOV 30, 2016
No head, good carbonation. Malty, bready. Not really my style of beer. From a can. Crockett (1117) - Southampton, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 13, 2016
Another one of these macro/lagered crossover junk beers. Pours apple juice gold, green hues. with a big head (only selling point). Ontario has come a long way, and this is pretty dumpy. Big nose of bread crust, yeast, cardboard and sweet corn. Flavour has a gritty vegetable backbone, with sweet sweet fizz. I know that they’re trying to build some sort of bohemian pilsener ale....but this is very dated, stale and sad. Aiming quite low. Not offensive, but pointless. At Ajax Beerfest. Pours clear gold with a white head. Sweet malts aroma. Taste of biscuit malts with a fruit finish. Decent beer, very drinkable.

UPDATED: MAY 7, 2016 Clear gold pour with a small. Lighter hopping, light sweet biscuit malt, straw, cracker in aroma and taste. Light body, perfect for kicking back during a round of golf (much like Chris Philips is doing now). For a basic golden ale you could do far worse. 473 ml can. Pours a veiled straw with a white head. Aroma is light malt, herbal hops. Flavor is slightly herbal, pale malt. Finish is slightly fruity. Medium body, average carbonation. Quite bland. Reimer96 (1743) - Alberta, CANADA - SEP 17, 2015
Pours a clear gold with a frothy white head. Aroma of fruity esthers and pale malts. Taste is the same with the balance towards the esthers... Easy drinking beer that would be better with less esthers and more of a malt profile. rodenbach99 (4572) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 7, 2015
Canette. Une liquide dorée avec une mousse blanche. Un nez de grain, dans le mauvais sens du terme. Une bouche aux saveurs sucrées de grains non-fermentés à la manière d’un malt liquor. Ordinaire même avec de la pizza. Karol (916) - SLOVAK REPUBLIC - JUL 7, 2015
Tapaed at The Pilot House in Kingston/Canada. Overall for me a hard to drink beer. Golden clear color. White time-short head. A too sweet aroma of malt and sweet tropical fruits. Same with taste. Some rice and corn detectable, malty, no bitterness. It reminds me of a German helles but it is even more sweet. Not my style of a beer at all.
