I can see how some would say this beer has way too much bourbon and isn’t balanced at all. That person would call this a hot mess. Well, I guess that’s just what I like. An in your face Bourbon stout that doesn’t pull any punches. wow!!!!!!!! douglas88 (9049) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 17, 2010
2009 edition. Small nip bottle (it says 355 ml, but the bottle is tiny, more like 7-8 ounces no way 12). Bottle thanks to FlandersNed. Pours a dark brown color with a medium beige head. A great nose; sweet cocoa, bourbon, sweet vanilla, more bourbon. The flavor is great; initial cocoa and milky chocolates, rich vanilla and sweet bourbon, light sweeter malts. Rich and big. A great imperial stout. Tastes old somehow. Light mouthfeel . RoscoeJackson (372) - Michigan, USA - APR 3, 2010

12 oz bottle, brewed 2005. Dark brown with some creamy tan edging. Nose is bourbon, dark chocolate and vanilla with a touch of tar. Coating with a bracing tang. Prominent alcohol but not objectionable. Taste starts with a slap of bourbon; woody, prunes, dates and chocolate but not so sweet. Finishes with citrus peel, tobacco and burnt sugar. Great barrel aging. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - FEB 18, 2010

(12oz bottle from the brewer - Re-Rate! deep ruby/brown with a ring of tan bubbles. Nose of rich maple, waffles, bourbon, rich chocolate. Taste of alcohol, maple, waffles, bourbon, rich chocolate, very decadent! Vanilla here too, so complex and flavorful.
