Craft Beer’s Gold Standard
Ever watch the setting sun turn a field of wheat into a blanket of spun gold? Not to worry if you haven’t, we’ve bottled it for you. It’s prairie goodness so pure that no matter where you choose to enjoy it, just close your eyes to find yourself in that field of dreams.

Little Known Fact
Truly a home-grown, honest-to-goodness Albertan beer. All of Grasshopper’s wheat is trucked in from the Lethbridge area, while its delicious barley malt comes exclusively from central Alberta.

joeycapps (1468) - Waterdown, Ontario, CANADA - APR 10, 2003
Hazy yellow w/ white head that dissipated very quickly. Some malt, yeast, & light grain on the nose. Light body that could be livelier. Sweet, grainy malt flavour w/ some sourness & bland finish.

Clear and golden almost with an orange tinge. Big head quickly sinks but lacing is respectable. Aroma is hoppy and grainy. Taste is rather plain and I sure don't experience wheat. A smooth and easy drinking beer for a hot day I guess. Not great in comparison to the hoe..

caledonian (367) - Surrey, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 22, 2003
UPDATED: FEB 3, 2007 A bit on the pale side, clear filtered. Good balance. Bit of a dried grass or hay aroma. Goes down smooth. Doesn’t have the personality or citrusy/fruity flavors of other wheat beers though.

A pleasant, very drinkable beer. Perhaps a bit on the weak side. Very nice with food - if had on its own, there's not a lot going for it.

beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - JAN 28, 2003
Light gold color. Small head. Aroma is slightly malty. A very light bodied wheat beer. Some malts, some hops. Not much flavor. Beat macro swill, but why bother. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is neutral. NOt ba, but really nothing to recommend it.

TipsyMcStager (1139) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 2, 2003
Can’t escape Grasshopper here in Alberta. In the past I thought it was better than it actually is. Suprisingly weak flavour for a wheat beer. Lacks the crispness of better brands. Average.

CapFlu (5128) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 2, 2002
A sweet wheat beer with a lemon finish. Very likable in the summer sun, with friends, at work, under the table...
