Craft Beer’s Gold Standard
Ever watch the setting sun turn a field of wheat into a blanket of spun gold? Not to worry if you haven’t, we’ve bottled it for you. It’s prairie goodness so pure that no matter where you choose to enjoy it, just close your eyes to find yourself in that field of dreams.

Little Known Fact
Truly a home-grown, honest-to-goodness Albertan beer. All of Grasshopper’s wheat is trucked in from the Lethbridge area, while its delicious barley malt comes exclusively from central Alberta.

RichardW (1813) - Carlisle, Cumbria, ENGLAND - AUG 14, 2014
Bottled. Pours a pleasant clear yellow-gold colour. Clean tasty palate, with lemon and light bread flavours. Refreshing and light, a good interpretation of a German kristalweiss

Can. Golden yellow pour with a small white head. Aroma of candied fruits, orange and overripe banana. Sweet, fruity flavour, more overripe fruit. Not your average wheat ale, but not something I really want to drink again.

I was really looking forward to this beer. It marked a shift in our local LC’s from big Canadian piss lagers to craft breweries being carried. Sadly this beer didn’t help the cause. It’s a pale corn-yellow with no head that looks and tastes hardly better than a skunky, metallic old (insert macro lager here). I wish they would have sent their better brews over, now none are carried.

I usually don’t get offended my wheat beer, but this one did exactly that. Maybe it was a bad batch, but it was all together unpleasant. Tasted of wheat gone bad and stale cereal, add a little skunk as well. After taste wasn’t much better as it was hard to finish the can, before it got too warm.

BeerGolem (821) - Quebec, CANADA - MAY 27, 2014
Sample on tap at Craft beer Market (Vancouver). Pours clear wheaty blond. Aroma: malt, distant hops and citrus. Taste is only malty. Refeshing I guess, but nothing to write home about here...

2.3
jksipa (914) - Newmarket, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 24, 2014
Clear yellow with a small white head. Nose is very faint tofee and grain. Slightly sweet and a bit crisp. Thin mouth with average carbonation. Inoffensive and uninspiring.

Parnsi (11) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 10, 2014
Rating #4. Boring beer. Pours to an unappetizing color with little aroma. Medium white head that doesn't last. Smells like a farm field and taste like grass or wheat but no hints of fruit or sweetness to take dullness away. Typical mediocre Big Rock beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2.3
cmacklin (1125) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 7, 2014
341 ml bottle. Clear golden colour with small white head. Aroma is wheat with some fruit and grass. Flavor is the same with a slight citrus finish. Watery and kind of boring.

3.1
MunBro (942) - St. Albert, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 14, 2014
Aroma of straw and corn. Typical golden yellow color. Not a very exciting one but it’s easy to drink and very refreshing on a patio in the summer. Hints of lemon while drinking on top of corn malts straw and wheat.

1.9
NatKadaw (98) - Alberta, CANADA - JAN 25, 2014
From bottle. Pours oily yellow with a quickly dissipating white head. Carbonation disappears completely. Flavor is corn syrup and wheat. Not a pretty looking beer in the glass, smells unappealing, flavor is better than it looks, but thin and syrupy.
