Craft Beer’s Gold Standard
Ever watch the setting sun turn a field of wheat into a blanket of spun gold? Not to worry if you haven’t, we’ve bottled it for you. It’s prairie goodness so pure that no matter where you choose to enjoy it, just close your eyes to find yourself in that field of dreams.

Little Known Fact
Truly a home-grown, honest-to-goodness Albertan beer. All of Grasshopper’s wheat is trucked in from the Lethbridge area, while its delicious barley malt comes exclusively from central Alberta.

For the two weeks of summer in Calgary this is a refreshing drink. It has a nice aroma and a great taste. Add a twist of lemon to it and you have a boulder Canadian version of Corona.

Nearly clear golden. Puffy white head. Strong wheat aroma. Taste has a light citric sweetness. Thin, watery texture.

Pale yellow pour. Floral aromas. Taste is sweet grains but also watery towards the end. Not great

Second disappointing beer I've tried from these guys in the last couple weeks. Nose is weird. It's....unpleasantly wheaty, with weird toasted and sweet notes. Taste is a mild improvement, which isn't saying a hell of a lot. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a pale yellow colour, clear, with a small white head. Head is pretty tasty, but doesn’t stick around too long, but luckily leaves some lacing behind. The aroma is a little hops but quite grainy. A little sweet and then fairly bitter towards the finish. Light-bodied, smooth mouthfeel, easy to drink.

Wheat ale? Really? I’d suggest its a corn ale. Ugh. I remember a cross country trip in the ’90’s & thinking this was something. I was wrong. It’s not. Tastes like sweet corn water fermented on a sweaty guy’s lush back hair. It’s sour without trying to be. Regret buying this. Don’t regret that road trip. It was epic. Avoid this beer.

Tranquillity (2328) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 20, 2016
Bottled. Clear body, doesn’t look like a wheat. The aroma is watery, the taste as well, but it’s fresh. Taste like club soda.

On holiday in Canada 473ml can gold blond colored sparkling body with a white head and with a citrus yeast hop aroma , a yeast hop fruity sweet taste with a slight bitter finish

Orange pour from draft at Rose & crown in Banff. White head. Wheat and grassy flavor. Not bad for the style.

YigSvartka (304) - Manitoba, CANADA - JUN 15, 2015
Translucent gold with a quickly receding small white head. Mild aroma containing notes of yeast, malt, honey, and lemon. Light bodied, particularly for a wheat. Tastes akin to a macro wheat. Yeast, malt, honey, and a hop/citrus finish are present, but in a rather passive manner. Pleasant as a chug it back summer ale, but immensely lacking in complexity.

ComradeK (1236) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - MAY 22, 2015
341ml bottle. Pours a clear light to medium gold, with a small white head, which fades quickly and doesn’t leave any lacing. The aroma offers some pleasant floral hops and a lick of wheat sweetness. The hops flavour up front is a little muted, although the floral notes are still present. The mid-palate has a little more body than I would expect from a wheat ale, but sadly isn’t backed up by much flavour, just a fairly simple sweetness. Reasonable enough, and very sessionable, but not the most exciting beer around.
