Signature Series
Pale in Colour, Not Flavour
If hoppy makes you happy, this Pacific Northwest-style IPA is your beer. We brew it with two kinds of delicious Yakima Valley Cascade hops, in such a way as to deliver the maximum heavenly hoppiness to your tastebuds, with the minimum bitterness.

Little Known Fact
The Cascade was the first North American-made aroma hop and the first hop variety from the USDA’s hop research program to be approved for sale since prohibition. It’s aroma is now one of the hallmarks of North American craft beer.

Editor’s note: "session" was added to the name in 2016, same ABV, so we changed the style accordingly

A very good beer from Big Rock. Makes you want to go out and try more of what that brewer has available.

Single bottle purchased from Crowfoot Liqour Store on 03/03/2011. Colour: Dark yellow and light brown....combined. Medium creamy white head. Nose: roasty malt, butter cream, seasoning salt, fresh baking. Delicious! Taste: Medium sweet, medium-light bitter, medium-light sour. Toast with just a shade of marmalade, and burnt hops that grip hold mid-palate and take over long after finished. Great stuff.

Jayseppi (159) - Ontario, CANADA - NOV 27, 2013
Burnt, glowing orange colour and a fizzy white cap. Aroma is a mixture of subtle hoppy pine and malty sweetness. More hopping is present in the flavour, but there is still a great balance between malt and hops. Carbonation level is great. Just enough to add some bite without covering any flavours. Awesome session brew, but would be better labelled as a Pale Ale instead of an IPA

Good malty aroma. Body is all malt with maedium bitterness. Finishes slightly sweet. Not quite an IPA, but a good malty English Pale Ale.

Note: Bottle sampled said IPA, not Pale India Pale ALe. Dark gold color. Medium head. Aroma is hoppy. A medium bodied IPA. Malty and hoppy. Somewhat juicy. Nicely balanced. A not to hoppy IPA. Grapefruit and citrus flavors are mild. More in the English style of IPA. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

bottle. Poured clear copper with a thin white head. The aroma is light, a slight yeasty wheat grain smell. Medium bodied, dry palate with moderate carbonation. Sweet bready malt flavour with some grapefruit notes. Light bitter finish.

UPDATED: MAR 17, 2012 En fût au Moxie’s. 5.5%. Couleur jaune or, mousse blanche. Arôme de grains frais et herbes. En bouche, malt et houblons mais pas persistant. Amertume qui invite à une seconde gorgée. Pas mal bonne pour un resto d’Ottawa.

Braudog (6717) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - APR 29, 2003
UPDATED: MAY 17, 2007 Poured dark amber with big lacey head. Impressively floral nose. Sweet, bountiful flavors, ripe with both malt and a bit o’ hop, very well rounded. Surprisingly good! (Re-rated from a bottle in Canada, 5/14/07: Poured with a ncie amber hue with an initial flourish of carbonation, then quieted. Maybe my olfactory senses are dulled, because I find little aroma, maybe a little crystaline malt. But this has a nice flavor ... solid tangy malt with a litle hoppy, woodsy addendum that appears as it rolls of the tongue.) Downgraded a bit from original.

An excellent alround beer, that has a nice aroma. A complex enough beer without being in your face, quite sessionable....

Fatehunter (2567) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - MAR 14, 2014
Pours a finger and half of head on a clear amber colored body. The aroma is pine, mango and pineapple... a bit faint overall though. The taste starts with a mild pine bitterness moving towards a dull dry grapefruit bitter middle and ending. The texture is soft with moderate carbonation. It’s a solid, good IPA.
