This was unfortunately pretty bad... Clear deep amber... sweet and fusel with plenty of vegetal notes... boozy caramel and stewed fruit esters... I love the concept and the ideals, but the beer was not too good... Beautiful label though. BuckeyeBoy (7663) - Boise, Idaho, USA - APR 6, 2016

Foremost, good on Big Sky for doing a beer for charity - this is sincere and commendable.
Bottled 2012. Different recipe and beer than the original, so gave it a new listing. Bottle has a stained glass label similar to the first in style, but this time of an angel sipping a chalice of beer in an alley in....Bruxelle?
Hard poured a brown ale with a quilt of fleeting cream foam. Leaves only a rim of bubbles over brilliant clarified beer. I agitate a bit before diving nose deep. The aroma is of commercial belgian yeast, some candy sugar, caramel, vinyl and hints of herbal tea and hops. Flavor is nice and sweet with plenty of belgian yeast character (grainy and coriander-esque). Some hints of butter and bubble gum with a noticeable level of alcohol and banana esters. Medium on thin bodied with, oddly, a resonant finish of note - carries the alcohol and esterification with it. Overall a good try, but I would have been happier to see another shot at a Saison. This one is hot and probably should have seen a better subscription to one of the characteristics of a tripel.

Bottle #254/1200 sent by JohnGalt1, thanks man! The first time I’ve broken a cork in half... whoops, overwhelmed with the giddiness. Pours a light chestnut color with a short-lived beige head. Aroma is delicate and hints at barleywine. Notes of sherry, toffee, and faded citrus hops. Sweet and inviting. A very soft mouthful and a bit watery feeling. The faded citrus hops are a minor player up front, a little toffee, and then a warm fusel alcohol takes over. I feel like there are Belgian spices and yeast in the background, but the abv burns right through it. Sweet, but not cloying. Interesting take on this being a BSA or BW, take your pick. The label calls it a dark tripel and that seems like a fair description. I just don’t pick up the Belgian spices or yeast that are expected from a Belgian style. **I refrigerated about a third of the bottle overnight; now it just reeks of barleywine. Smooth and potent, I’m actually enjoying this a little more the day after. DuffMan (10425) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 3, 2013
Bottle-- thanks Gramity! Medium brown, hazy, with a thick light golden head. Aroma is sweet and yeasty, ripe dark fruits, caramel. Sweet entry to the palate, prunes, amaretto, dark sugar. Very prominent yeast character, in a good way. Warming finish. This drank like a nice Abt/quad style. Very good,

Appearance: Clear bronze with a small beige head and good lacing
Aroma and tastes of Roasted malts, dark fuit and brown sugar
750 thanks to Toby! Pours a dark brown color with a medium tan head. A big sweet nose of fruity dark malts and warmth. The flavor is sweet caramel and plums, some berries, very hot at times, brown sugar and more lingering sweetness. MikeJslc (778) - USA - APR 13, 2013
Light brown, clear, tan head. Bready nutty malt, spicy phenols, some floral notes, finishes kindof grainy and earthy.
