#3068 / 3240 2012 vintage. Nose is sweet. Taste is sweet also. Fruit and maple palate. Boozy aftertaste and finish is brown sugar. Decent sipper but no need to buy again crossovert (13724) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 28, 2013
Happy I didn’t fork out the 15 or so bucks for this one. IT is a bit like a quad, bit like a dubbel, really nothing special though. CampesinoTino (800) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 9, 2013
Gold Foil Capped 750 ml 2011 Bottle #755/1800. Mahogany colored in appearance with a substantial cap of tan foam. Lots of caramel, figs, prunes and molasses in the aroma as well as some yeast funk around the edges. The taste is loaded up front with notes of brown sugar, raisins, dates and black cherries in addition to some vanilla, maple and allspice notes toward the end. The body is thick and creamy with moderate carbonation while the finish serves up a final dose of malt, dark fruits and booze. Overall, a quality holiday sipping beer that tastes something like a Belgian Strong Dark Ale crossed with a Barley Wine. portableparty (2379) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - JAN 5, 2013
750 ml 2012 bottle. Pours murky dark amber brown with light off white head that fades. Aroma of booze candied burnt sugar malt and subtle faint fruit. Taste is boozy (hot) with dark fruit candied sugar clove and pepper. Palate is slick hot medium feel slick warming finish. DalzAle (2038) - Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA - JAN 5, 2013
Bottle thanks to portableparty! Medium brown pour, a little lacing/carbonation and a medicinal alcohol nose. Flavor is medicinal cherry, heavy malt and a little too much alcohol. Ok.

750 ml corked and caged bottle, thanks, Brenn79. Vintage 2012, Bottle #1828 of 3240. Love the fucked up label--Rudolph is hanging outside the window, gutted. Pours cloudy amber with a small quickly-collapsing beige head; leaves a consistent ring of foam. Aroma is pretty faint, but I’m getting fruity esters, bread--smells too sweet for my tastes. Taste isn’t as cloying as the aroma let on, but it is sweet. It’s a little watery, boozy, softly carbonated. Not a big fan of this; it seems a little sloppy. UPDATED: DEC 25, 2012 750 ml. bottle- Pours very hazy brown to red with a way too thin head that reduces to a small collar. Aroma is candy sweet, malty, spices. The taste is again candy sweet, malty and spices, banana and other fruits are there too. Body is medium, carbonation is medium to almost low. Overall I was let down by this, it seems flawed, Belgian beers are supposed to be higher carbonation, that is the main problem. mar (5436) - Dallas, Texas, USA - DEC 14, 2012
Hazy brown pour, cream head. Nose is spices, dried fruits, sherry, toffee, and sticky. Smooth palate, rich sherry, caramel, spice, light alcohol finish.
