This was poured into a chalice.
The appearance was a semi-hazy bronzed yellow color with a slight transparency about it. Some carbonation was seen rising at a moderate pace. Film of white foamy head dissipated into oblivion. No lace.
The aroma had some butterscotch/light caramel, dried floral bits, banana, pear, leather, basement and white bread.
The flavor did a decent job of blending but somehow for a Tripel, I was hoping for that Belgian spice which never showed up. Not much of an aftertaste, somewhat malty, but the finish was fairly quick with the floral hop portions.
The palate was between light and medium bodied with a semi-sessionable sort of feel along my tongue. Carbonation felt fine. ABV did seem a bit under than what’s projected by the brewer.
Overall, the feel is the best thing about this beer. I have to wonder if I got an old bottle, but then again I always thought Tripels could age well. Fantomasus (291) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JUL 14, 2015
Pours a cloudy straw with a vapid white head. Aroma is potent: caramel, floral, dough, some banana... it’s okay but I detect SOAP. The taste is actually fairly balanced. Astringent bitter finish. Really disappointing. Such a good brewery but a mediocre offering. gschrade (1094) - Collinsville, Illinois, USA - SEP 17, 2014
I had this at Global Brew. Pours gold with a white head. Taste belgian yeast, sweet, citrus. I thought this was good. I could drink this again.

Big bottle, corked & caged, shared with Parksy and Robbie. Hazy medium gold, soft white head, early lace. Pineapple and phenols, moderately yeasty. A nice tripel. mikedR (1561) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - JAN 29, 2014
Sold tripel all the way around, American style. A little light on the Belgian yeast notes, but easily compensated by the hops. Good.

On tap. Light golden pour with slight white head. Sweet nose. Sweet, yeasty taste with some spice. Very smooth and dangerously easy to drink. Solid Tripel. superspak (5887) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - JUL 20, 2013
UPDATED: JUL 21, 2013 750 ml bottle into chalice; 2012 vintage, bottle 1099 of 3240. Pours hazy golden amber color with a small white head with poor retention, that reduces to a minimal lace cap. Minimal glass lacing, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of pear, apple, grape, clove, herbal, pepper, floral, wheat, bread, candi sugar, and yeast earthiness. Ok aromas with decent balance and complexity of malt and yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of pear, apple, grape, clove, pepper, wheat, bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of light fruits, clove, pepper, herbal, grass, floral, bread, wheat, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Solid balance and complexity of yeast and malt flavors; with no cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately slick and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a pretty solid Tripel style. Decent balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast esters with bready malts; and fairly smooth to sip on. A fairly enjoyable offering. wxman (1841) - O’Fallon, Illinois, USA - JUL 2, 2013
On tap at Global Brew. Pours a hazy yellow with a thin small bead white head. Aroma is spices and citrus. Taste is sweet pale malt, almost cloying, with plenty of citrus sourness, rock candy, and an almost medicinal character, though well balanced. ABV is not noticeable during the session, but makes itself evident afterwards. Pretty damned good, but one or two is plenty. RobertDale (6755) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - JUN 2, 2013
Sample at Hopfest 2013. Comes a darker golden orange with a nice white head. Aroma of fruit, yeast, malt, and grain. Taste is fruit, yeast, malt, spice, and grain. Pretty good. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - MAR 31, 2013
Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. Yellow with a white head. The aroma is full of lemons and biscuit malt, as well as some Belgian yeast and grass. The flavor is fairly sweet with some strong candy sugar notes. I also get some wheat, Belgian yeast, wheat and alcohol. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
