12oz bottle. pours black with minimal off-white head. aroma of big sugary, creamed coffee. burnt malt, toast, and bitter chocolate. flavor is a bit of a letdown from what was expected by the nose. more simple and weak. stale coffee, slight cream, earth (minerals and grass), bitter and dry cocoa. thin and watery

Bottle purchased from Tiffany’s in Kalamazoo, Mich. Tastes of burnt malt, chocolate, and obviously, coffee. It’s rather light-bodied, but not too bad.

Pretty tasty - one of the better beers I’ve had from Big Sky. It’s a good cold day brew.

I was amped to try this one. Pours old oil black with a foamy, dark tan head. Definitely a strong roasted coffee and chocolate aroma. Roasted hop taste with a strong warming coffee finish. This is a bad ass brew from Big Sky country!

Bottle pours brown with a khaki head. Aroma is huge coffee, chocolate, and moderate roast malt. Flavor shows the same with a hint of ash. Overall, the body is somewhat thin but not too shabby.

Bottle from Bottleworks. Pours pretty dark brown/black with a foamy/frothy 3 finger darkish tan head. Aroma of coffee understudied by chocolate. Med body. Flavor is coffee, with some medium dark chocolate. It’s fairly bitter, though from burnt malt or hop I do not now. Pretty good stuff.

Bottle. Pour is deep brown, black when sitting in glass with a nice tan frothy head and some lacing as well. Aroma is fresh brewed coffee with some burnt roasted malt as well. Taste is more coffee and malt which is nice and smooth. Palate is medium mouthfeel with a dingle carbonation and chaulky finish. Awesome porter, keep it up Big Sky!

Nose is black coffee, a light creaminess, and some fruity yeasty esters which I found slightly odd. Pours dark brown, head settles to a beige ring. The flavor is akin to black coffee with some fruity esters and light sweetness. Finishes dry, lightly bitter, nice creamy body. Not bad, but the fruity esters threw me off a bit.
