UPDATED: JAN 23, 2011 Draft at the brewery taproom. Black body, frothy brown head. Aroma of pretty heavy coffee with some milky sweetness. Taste is bold coffee with some chocolate malt, bitter finish. Medium body, medium carbonation. Got a growler of this and killed it pretty quick..... Bottle. It has a little less coffee flavor and aroma. Still good though. poisoneddwarf (2620) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - JAN 8, 2011
12 oz bottle into English pint. My bottle reads 6.2% ABV. Pours a dark, dark brown that lets a little bit of light through when held up to the light. Has a fast disappearing tan head that leaves some sticky lace. Smells of freshly roasted black coffee (no surprise). Taste is bittersweet and a little sour. Carbonation is medium, body is medium-full. Nice beer here, have no fear for the coffee and beer are here. Beerdrinker79 (2188) - Idaho, USA - JAN 7, 2011
12 oz. bottle- Immediate coffee aroma as soon as I poured, chocolate malt is also present, appearance is black with red highlights at the base of the glass, it has a creamy tan head and average lacework. The taste is bitter up front followed by coffee, black coffee, not sissy espresso. A creaminess sets in then finishes bitter again. I wish it was less bitter, but overall a decent beer. Draft. Nice coffee aroma. Coffee and sweet chocolate up front, roasted malts, just a hint of smoke. No real bitterness, slightly chalky. Thinner mouthfeel than expected, chocolate lingers on finish. Enjoyable coffee beer. RoscoeJackson (372) - Michigan, USA - MAY 10, 2010
UPDATED: MAR 1, 2011 EDIT: wow, my bottle experience was severely lacking! not bad overall, but nothing like my tap experience below in which i absolutely loved this brew. in a bottle this was VERY average. lowering my rating from a 4.0 to 3.6
one of the best coffee stouts i’ve ever had. silky, creamy, smooth. little bit of chocolate. doesnt taste like a very high abv, but very enjoyable.

Actual title is ’Cowboy Coffee Porter’, on tap at the Big Sky Taproom, tried a sample, bought a growler. Pours very dark brown, almost black, with a thin tan head. Coffee flavor is certainly there, as is some chocolate. This one is fairly rich, and smoothly drinkable. Thumbs up. MeadMe (1680) - Fishhawk, Florida, USA - APR 11, 2010
On tap at hopcat.
A: pours a dark brown almost black with a rather small tan head. No real retention or lace noted.
S: Aromas of light roasted malt, cheap truck stop coffee, and chocolate malt.
T: Taste even less appealing than the aroma. Light roasted malt with very subtle chocolate. Hints of coffee, but not the fresh kind. To describe it I would say watered down cheap coffee with a hint of crushed malt. Nothing really melds, hell there is very little flavor here to be honest.
M: Light, watery.
D: Forgettable. I have already forgot I consumed this one.
