12 fl oz bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Spiced, liqourice and herbal. Bitter, toffee and herbal coffee. Bitter and dry roasted finish. Papsoe (25054) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 16, 2013
Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Doodler. Pours a clear reddish brown with a dissipating light brown head. Some vanilla and coffee in the nose. Medium body, dryish, chocolate accents and again quite some coffee - but never heavily roasted or burned. But quite pleasant and easygoing - if somewhat light. 160513 brokensail (16689) - Dublin, California, USA - MAR 27, 2013
Almost black in color with a tan head. Really nice coffee aroma. Strong coffee, mild spice, and a dark berry aroma. Some cocoa powder, dark chocolate, and hints of caramel sweetness to go along with all the roast. The flavor is a bit less impressive, but still enjoyable. Coffee, roasted malt, and a fair amount of dark chocolate. Mild spice, some earth, and a light bitterness. bhensonb (15967) - Woodland, California, USA - JAN 15, 2011
Bottle from Bottleworks. Pours pretty dark brown/black with a foamy/frothy 3 finger darkish tan head. Aroma of coffee understudied by chocolate. Med body. Flavor is coffee, with some medium dark chocolate. It’s fairly bitter, though from burnt malt or hop I do not now. Pretty good stuff. crossovert (14128) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 5, 2014
355ml bottle. Dark brown pour, creamy tan/brown head. Smell is coffee and cocoa, slight bit of the green pepper scent some coffee beers like bcbcs get but not over the top. It has a nice body, sweet caramel and cocoa backing, the coffee is heavy, slight metallic note, not super bitter. I am expecitng fresher better coffee flavor but it isn’t bad.

"a nice addition to their line-up. a little thin bodied but the flavor makes up for that. for the price, a very nice highly quaffable beer. the coffee is a little more evident in the flavor than the aroma. more roast in the nose and chocolate.roast/bitter balance in the flavor. well done." Decent coffee, but lighter than expected mouthfeel for a porter. Dark brown, OK aroma. Not so drinkable. Extra from Steve in Michigan. BVery (11458) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - MAR 2, 2013
Bottle. Pretty much a black pour with a small spotty khaki head. Coffee and slight lactose in this. Smooth and fairly heavy palate. Delicious. daknole (11048) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - JAN 19, 2011
Brown pour, tan head. aroma of roast, toast, coffee, and light chocolate. Flavor is roasty, lightly thin, coffee, char. Ash. phaleslu (10895) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 27, 2011
Draft at The Bridge. Pours a deep, dark, nearly opaque brown color with a big, soft, creamy tan head that settles and laces unevenly. Aroma of dry roasted coffee, milk chocolate, toasted brown sugar, and vanilla. Flavor of coffee, roasted malts, lots of chocolate and fudge, brown sugar, vanilla, and toast. Medium-bodied, with soft carbonation and a creamy, smooth mouthfeel. Really nice, balanced, smooth, and sweet coffee porter. Very nice beer from Big Sky, and I liked this one a lot more than all of their other regular (i.e. non-imperial stuff like Ivan or OB) beers. Underrated.
