Thanks to TODD for this one, bottle #902/1152. Poured deep brown with an easily-resuscitated cap of tan head. The aroma picked up sweet, toasty bourbon (almost brandy) over black patent and chocolate maltage.. rather soft and toasty overall complexion.. vanilla showed with warmth. The flavor found mostly black patent sweetness at the core along with some molasses.. vanilla, tangy oak, and bourbon surrounded.. charred black malts, bourbon, oak, and splashes of milk chocolate-covered cherries on the finish.. YUM! Medium-bodied on the palate (wish it had a slightly thicker feel) with a fine impression from the barrel treatment.. excellent stuff!!

UPDATED: AUG 9, 2014 Beautifully balanced aroma and flavor of bourbon, baker’s chocolate, real vanilla, cherry wine, amaretto, cashew/macadamia/hazelnut, and toasted coconut. Bourbon is at the perfect level, and the mouthfeel is firm and creamy without being too heavy on the palate. The aftertaste is perfect...long but not overdone.

HonkeyBra (4044) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - DEC 19, 2009
2009 bottle, 288/3000. Black pour with tan head. Aroma of jim beam, chocolate, ash. Flavor is smokey, chocolate, and bourbon, bourbon really dominates this beer and makes it kind of one dimensional, even for a bourbon beer. Chalky mouthfeel. This is pretty close to amazing, but not quite there.

pours black like the soul of a whore. nose of fig, faint banana and burnt molasses. taste is sweet with a following alcohol punch that gives way to a hint of smoke and light iodine. definately an interesting imperial stout, but one that’s miles behing, say Boulevard’s Imp Stout, which is amazing. big sky, keep trying. even a semi-good imperial stout is better than a sharp stick in the eye.

Bottle #199/3000 Thanks to George and Kieth in sharing this with me. Deep black pour with a brown head. Nice bourbon aroma wafts up during the pour and even after the beer was finished. Notes of vanilla and chocolate accompanied it. Taste was smooth. Bourbon(big fan of Beam), vanilla and chocolate. Great lacing on the glass.

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Pours tar black with a small, creamy, khaki head. Good retention. The aroma presents heavy notes of toasted coconut, lightly roasted cashews, bourbon, vanilla and dark chocolate. Full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The rich, hearty flavor is almost a photocopy of the nose – toasted coconut, bourbon, chocolate and vanilla. Finishes is lengthy, sweet and a touch boozy with a kiss of vanilla at the very end. Bottle of this world class impy stout courtesy of Beerlando!

Thanks very much for sharing this Todd! Bottle 902/1152. The beer pours to a black body with a coating tan head. The aroma is sweet bourbon, oak, and chocolate. Perhaps some cherries? The flavor is chocolate cherries and coconut oaked bourbon. Medium full body. Creamy. Delicious. It delivered nicely!

750 ml bottle drank with Eric, Sam, Jeremy, and Craig. Pours a dark brown with a large beige head. A rich nose of wood, bourbon, vanilla, roasted malts, very sweet. The flavor is great; rich bourbon goodness, woody, roasted malts, sweet vanilla, powerful and very good. Thanks guys.
