COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.
Note: ABV went down to 5.1%.

A brown, sweet ale that is very sweet. Chocolate is the dominate aroma. The mouthfeel is thick and chewy. The head is thin and lacy. As someone mentioned, this ale is akin to drinking a brownie.

At Beartooth Cafe, Cooke City. Pours hazy dark amber/brown with a diminishing, brown head. The aroma contains caramel, malt, hay, hops and bread. It tastes medium sweet and light bitter with a dry finish. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Drinkable yet nothing special.

Nice dark and rich colour. Flavour has nutty hints a chocolate. Would buy this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

When in Big Sky country do as the Big Skyers do. Purchased as a 12 oz bottle at the Canyon Lodge store in Yellowstone. A pour into the finest quality plastic cup available delivers a dark brown body followed by a tall, brown egg colored foam. The nose gives up malt and straw. With a drink I get more of the malt, significant hoppiness and a roasted nuts finish. Decent but brown ales are way down on the list for me.

Pours a deep dark ruby reddish brown with a white head. Aroma of grape and dark malt. Taste is malt forward with a note of maple syrup with a slight oak note followed and finished by earthy hops.

Bottle. Dark Brown in colour. Malty; roasty malts, caramel, chocolate, nuts. Hoppy; spicy hops. Sweet roast malty throughout with spicy hop edge. Dry in the finish. Very easy drinking. Decent. (2010-09)

Not bad, but a bit watery tasting. No obvious aroma, slight malty taste with tiny hint of spice. (K)
