A rather old rating, finally getting entered now. This moose came from John’s Grocery in Iowa City, and poured a dark brown with a modest tan head. Smells of warm toasty malt and coffee. Pleasant nutty roast flavor, just a bit thinner than I’d wish for initially, but a few more sips in the light-leaning body seems important to the very refreshing briskness of the beer. Faint woody bitterness. This could pass for a mild, which is a very good thing in my book.
355ml bottle from Tasty Life, Xiamen. Pours dark reddish brown with an off white head. Aroma of chocolate, malt and nuts. Sweetish taste and finish. chadski (173) - California, USA - DEC 24, 2017

I had this on tap at Paradise Valley Liquors
Poured a very dark brown with reddish hues and a small head of foam. That shrank to an island in the middle after a few minutes and it has very little lacing.
The smell is malty and somewhat nutty.
The taste has some chocolate malt notes and some nutty flavour and a very mild hop presence in the background. It finishes on a fruity note and the aftertaste is short. Medium carbo and a good mouthfeel for the style. Here's a good transition beer for those who may be a bit timid about trying something new. I think it's a good example of the style.

Pours dark translucent brown with a think tan head. Caramel taste with a hint of dry cocoa finish. A hint of cinnamon spices at the finish.

Pours a deep cola color with a decent off white head which lingers a bit......aroma of chocolate, shoo fly pie filling.....taste is a tad thin, touch metallic, chocolate, slight bittering, but disappears quickly. robbster (5) - - SEP 15, 2017 does not count
Looks like a coke when you pour it in a glass. I didn't enjoy the appearance perhaps on draft it would be different. However over all I love moose drool

Moose Drool's Brown Ale has on OK taste in my opinion. Stouts and Porters are still my game.
